Really wonderful food, service and ambiance. My partner and I did the wine pairing and it was worth it. We enjoyed every dish and while the plating is on the smaller size, we walked out full, happy, and with new memories. I recommend this place to anyone who loves food and to anyone who is willing to pay some money for an experience that they won’t forget. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable. Give it a try if you can!

Our family had the most beautiful meal at Potato during our stay in Zermatt.  Each dish had a combination of incredible flavors and the presentation was gorgeous.  The staff was phenomenal in their ability to explain each dish and beyond that they were so polite and friendly.  It was a wonderful experience that we highly recommend.

Ended up dining here on our last night in Zermatt. My partner and I did the 5-course pairing and split the wine pairing. Coming from San Francisco and having “burnt-out” on tasting menus out there we were impressed with the creativity and flavors Potato were able to provide.

If I had to come back I would do the 3-course tasting as their portions are reasonable!

A fine-dining establishment called “Potato”…at first I thought it was funny but then the menu looked interesting so we gave it a try. That evening we could choose between a 3-course and 5-course meal, with the option for pescatarian or not, and with or without an accompanying wine selection for each course.  This is not a cheap restaurant but we went all in and were not disappointed!  The food was creative, light, and served at a good pace.  For me, all but the perch were quite tasty.  We were definitely full at the end of the meal.  The waitstaff were unbelievably accommodating, funny, engaging, and made the experience extremely pleasant. Also they were quite proud of their food- as they should be- and were knowledgeable about the food, all of which is grown or taken from within 99 km of the restaurant itself.

This is not traditional Swiss fondue and will be a pricey meal- think 200 Fr per person probably, especially with drinks, but was worth it!!
