Amano is an absolute gem of a restaurant, offering an unforgettable dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is effortlessly classy, striking the perfect balance between modern elegance and cozy charm. From the moment you step inside, the impeccable 5-star service makes you feel completely taken care of.

The star of the evening for me was their Beef Tongue dish. Tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, it was served with a delicious olive accompaniment that added just the right touch of briny richness. This dish alone is reason enough to visit again—it’s an absolute must-try for anyone seeking something unique and expertly crafted.

Another standout was their anchovies dish. It arrived on perfectly toasted bread, with a delightful crispness that paired beautifully with the salty, savory anchovies. The simplicity of the dish highlights the restaurant’s ability to turn high-quality ingredients into something truly special.

Every aspect of the meal exceeded expectations, from the food to the atmosphere and service. Amano is a place I would gladly return to, and I can’t wait to explore more of their menu. Highly recommended!

Amano is always amazing, have never been disappointed. The flavors are so amazing and there’s such a wide variety of choice. There’s a lot of room to play with flavors and create the most amazing culinary experience. The drinks menu, especially the cocktails are amazing. As someone who has tried almost all the cocktails on their menu I can highly recommend the grapefruit and tamarillo cocktail.

From the food menu, we focused mostly on seafood, with only one meat item as a main. Entrees are a must, especially the smoked warehou which I could honestly have every single day and not get tired of. The oysters are also fantastic. The main attraction for me, and has been for the last few years is the chitarra pasta, the fresh scampi melt in your mouth.

The one thing I wouldn’t recommend on the menu is the steak/meat items but everything else is fantastic. I now only order seafood items except for the lamb ragu which is also always a hit amongst friends (ironically my table partner always orders that dish).

We all had a beautiful seafood lunch. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. The interior is chic and has great warmth. Service was excellent. This is a most innovative menu with both fresh food and a fresh approach to preparation and presentation. Bravo.
We had Espresso Trifle for dessert. This was superb as well.

Busy place but very fast service, staff always present when you need them. Very professionals, fast and polite.
Food was good but missing the wow Impression. Some of dish were not like the menu description, missing some ingredients.

My expectations were too high. Having recently returned from holiday in Italy and eating at truly authentic restaurants, we were spoiled to say the least.
I was looking foward to an Italian meal here in New Zealand.
The meal (Pappardelle) was OK, but did not measure up to the same meal in Italy.
In saying this, other people in our party enjoyed their meal.
The service we received was excellent, and our waiter was outstanding.
