Great Vermont getaway. Perfect location and service and friendliness of staff superb. Shout out to Andrew at the front-desk who made our stay extra special! A plus also for us were lots of friendly and beautiful dog guests to enjoy.

Lovely hotel. We stayed here second time and will definitely come back again. We enjoyed the premises which is pet friendly and superb for our cat to stay with us in hotel room. We (with our cat) enjoyed our hotel room which was spacious, clean and had a lovely view of the mountains which was special to see on cold days with snow outside. We stayed three days two nights and appreciated the slightly earlier check-in accommodated to us. It was also nice to have the free coffee in mornings and drink vouchers in evenings with snacks (nice touch). The staff are friendly and warm. In room amenities are superb but just found it odd that we have to request kettle or coffee machine and room doesnt have it. Also would be great if there was microwave in room. The shower was nice but the knobs were slightly tricky to work it. There was no drinking water provided in room which would have been nice if 1-2 bottles. The bed was comfortable and clean. The location of hotel was superb, close to main city center while in quiet area. We liked that we were only few minutes out from many ski destinations- perfect for winter trip. The hotel has nice amenities with beautiful lounge area with fireplace as well as great restaurant. Although we found the food at the restaurant quality had dropped from last year and was very very pricy ($50 per person without drinks plus tips). Also the room service option is pretty much ridiculous- it was almost $15-20 charge for bringing any food to room as service fees. We like the fact that the staff and hotel is friendly for our cat which we really appreciate and hope to come back again soon!

Note, this is the first time I have ever felt compelled to review a hotel.  I have been fortunate to have travelled extensively for thirty years for both business and pleasure staying at many exceptional properties, and I have to say the Kimpton Taconic is my family's favorite hotel.

The hotel has become a bit of an oasis and mini-vacation when we go to VT.  The boutique size is perfect, accessible, cozy and never feels crowded.  I cannot think of a more relaxing setting than the firepit and wraparound porch and rockers in the spring and summertime and the cozy library and den with continuously running real wood fireplace in the fall and winter. The excellent restaurant Copper Grouse, game room and complimentary cocktail hour make it that much more enjoyable.

Most importantly though, the service and staff drive the truly exceptional vibe and experience of the hotel.  There is a warmth and authenticity in the friendly service that is unlike any other places we have stayed.

I hesitate writing this because I don't want this hidden gem to get out there, but I feel that this exceptional hotel and staff need to be recognized.

Rooms are very nice, but at this value we stayed much nicer places during our time in Vermont. I would recommend people look elsewhere unless you need to stay in Manchester. In particular, we had a dinner reservation, but when asked if they had any other times we were simply told no. While I was waiting to ask the host about our reservation, a father, and hotel guest, in front of me asked for any openings for his family - at any time, and the host just said 'no we are full'.  They do not differentiate the way they accommodate hotel guests versus other dinning guests.

Had a lovely 3 night stay here for Christmas. Very friendly and helpful staff, kids/family friendly, and dog friendly. Awesome food at the restaurant. Cannot ask for more. Especially appreciated the playroom they set up for the holidays with Christmas decorations and fun games for adults and children, etc. Thank you!!
