Go to the Ritz with high expectations.  Our room was lovely and decent sized.  The service here is impeccable.  You are paying for it so it better be good.  The hotel itself is in decent shape and is dripping with class.   It's up on hill so unless you love to hike you can expect to take cabs.  This is a very unique property.  We travel frequently and usually don''t stay at a Ritz, but we splurged on points this time and we are glad we did.  We had a basic breakfast at the restaurant and it cost $100+.  You were warned.

The Ritz-Carlton in San Francisco was a wonderful experience. We got a free upgrade, and our room was gorgeous with a lovely city view. The service was outstanding, and the hotel had a luxurious atmosphere.

The breakfast was a bit of a letdown, though—it was quite simple with not many options, and a bit pricey for what was offered. Despite that, the overall stay was fantastic.

Let me start off by saying that I am an African American...which shouldn't matter but DOES. It affects where I go and where I feel safe and accepted rather than ignored and rejected. This was particularly important to me as I wanted to celebrate my birthday. Initially, my family and I were was unsure about staying at the Ritz due to older comments about managerial staff being rude to people who may be of color. However, after talking to the attentive concierge, we decided to stay here anyway and WOW....we are STILL Swooning over how LOVELY our stay was here.

Location was absolutely Great! Hotel Exquisite and Clean! The beds and pillows were heavenly! And the amenities downstairs were Impressive. Views from our room were great and allowed us to see Coit tower

The Concierge staff/Housekeeping were wonderful!
Also, awesome Bellmen (HUGE Shoutout to Patrick who was PHENOMENAL and had a wonderful spirit and made us feel welcomed every single time we left and came back to the hotel. My family and I literally still talk about how great he was even months later).

10/10 stars truly. Would absolutely recommended.

The Ritz Carlton was an excellent choice for my wife and me during our stay for a friend’s wedding! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the rooms were fantastic. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly. Room service was amazing, and breakfast was delicious—though a bit pricey, it was worth it to have it on-site. Overall, no complaints at all!

The Ritz-Carlton offers a luxurious experience, but the friendly bartender, Tommy, truly elevated our evening there. From the moment we sat down, he greeted us warmly and made us feel like the evening was tailor-made for us. Knowledgeable about both the classic cocktails and unique signature drinks, he went above and beyond to recommend flavors that suited our tastes perfectly. His attention to detail was clear, not only in the perfectly balanced drinks but also in how they managed to chat with each guest, making everyone feel like a valued part of the experience.

It was clear he took pride in what they did, and that energy was contagious. Not only were the cocktails spot-on, but the whole atmosphere was relaxed, elegant, and inviting—all thanks to a Tommy, the bartender who genuinely cared about making our night unforgettable. And shout out to his bar back Bhuwan!
