Coasterra is an absolute gem! The food is amazing--yes, it's on the pricier side, but the quality and flavors make it worth every penny. If you go, you must try the coconut margarita--it's absolutely to die for!

The atmosphere is stunning, with breathtaking views that elevate the entire dining experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just enjoying a night out, the ambiance here is unparalleled.

To top it all off, the service has always been excellent. The staff is attentive, friendly, and makes you feel like a valued guest.

I recently attended a work event at Coasterra, an upscale dining spot with a breathtaking view, on a chilly Monday evening in December. With free, convenient, and well-lit parking close to the restaurant, my expectations were high. However, the initial greeting from the hosts was less than warm. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, the two hosts barely acknowledged my presence. I stood at the host stand for a moment until one finally offered a reserved "it’ll be a moment" without much enthusiasm.

Once acknowledged and informed I was early, I chose to wait outside by their inviting gas fireplace, which provided a cozy ambiance complemented by remarkable views of the downtown skyline. About ten minutes later, my party arrived, and we were led to our private patio with welcoming overhead heaters, a delightful addition on a chilly evening.

The evening began with a delicious charcuterie board, showcasing a fine selection of flavors. Our event was well managed by 3 attentive servers who quickly took our drink orders. I started with a "Staycation" mocktail, a refreshing blend of coconut and pink guava that I found both exotic and delightful. Preferring something more vibrant, I later tried the "Cucumber Fresca" but found it lacking in flavor compared to its counterpart.

The night progressed with a choice of appetizers, which I opted to skip, though they appeared appetizing. For my starter, I selected the "Red Pear & Mission Fig Salad." The combination of fig, pear, and pickled carrots was delightful, although I wished the salad had been more finely chopped with an extra hint of blue cheese and dressing.

My main course, the "Tampiqueña," arrived with commendable flavor, cooked to a medium doneness, albeit a bit tough. A splash of salsa or sauce would have enhanced the dish, adding a much needed burst of flavor and moisture. The accompanying rice was unimpressive, lacking both color and flavor, while the beans were great.

For dessert, I attempted to order the “Chocolate & Peanut Butter Mousse Bar” but was informed by the waiter that they were out, which was disappointing. None of the other desserts appealed to me, so I opted not to order anything else.

Overall, the exceptional skyline view and the warmth of the fireplace at Coasterra made for an impressive backdrop to a lively work event. Despite a few hitches with service and minor culinary improvements needed, the atmosphere and setting made it a memorable experience. The gorgeous downtown skyline view is worth a visit, although the food and availability of items could be enhanced, especially considering the cost.

We had a great thanksgiving dinner here. The food was excellent. Service was decent but could have been slightly quicker. Drinks were very good and overall we left feeling like we’d come back again.
As a bonus, the views are amazing

A great place for more upscale Mexican with phenomenal views. The food is standard and has great variety for a more upscale Mexican place. Would highly recommend the clams and mussels appetizer and take the sauce home to put on pasta later.

There are times in life that are so deep, so important, such milestones, that the last thing in the world someone wants to do is to worry about the nuts and bolts of the milestones we experience.
We had gathered at Coasterra for such a milestone. Some of us seeing each other for the first time in many years and others long lost family members we had never met.
At things like this one wants a beautiful atmosphere, kind and helpful service, and the cement that binds all these things together… good food.
As I age, kindness becomes more and more of a motivating factor in life. Kindness to strangers, kindness to family. I start to see this as the foundation of a satisfying life. Kindnesses are the building blocks that raise great towers. It is the river that flows through the countryside and draws up flowers and crops from the dark earth.
Well, Coasterra was kind to us. They were friendly and understanding. They kept a safe and nurturing space to let our journey play itself out.
What’s the food fantastic? Not really, but was it good enough? Yes it was. this was not a sitdown meal and one does not seek or expect the finest of dining in these sometimes difficult gatherings. But yes, it was good enough.
The view was wonderful, the day was beautiful and all things went smoothly and well.
I would love to come and actually sit down to experience their restaurant on a more personal level next time I am in the area.
The most important thing was that they understood service and service in my humble opinion is one of the ultimate gifts we have to give.
