This is recommended to go deeper into the story and history of the Panama Canal that the Canal visitor center doesn't touch on. If you came to Panama City to check out the canal then also take the time to go to the museum. I had no idea how complicated the relationship between the USA and Panama was. Entrance fee was reasonable (about $12) and the exhibits are in Spanish and English. Well laid out. Water and bathrooms on every floor.

This is a very interesting museum chuckfull of all kinds of information regarding Panama and its famous canal. In addition, they include some original artifacts to discover too.

You can spend a considerable amount of time exploring all the museum has to offer as well. Even so, the admission price I feel was too high though

I absolutely loved the old tech they have here,you'll see items from the early 1900s. The history of the canal is great and it's a nice escape from the heat. The gift shop is a bit basic but some cute items. It's very cool what they have here and you learn a lot.

The museum is dedicated to showcasing the history of the construction of the Panama canal. As you enter, you are greeted by a very nice receptionist who gives you the ticket and explains the building and what is inside. There are two main floors, both accessible by stairs and elevator. The first floor explores the history of canal's construction, and the second one goes into details of its nationalisation and the upheaval that this call by Panamanians creates throughout the 20th century. Overall, you get some good insight into the history of one of the most important man made structures in the world.

The museum offers an interactive and educational exhibit that will help you understand not only the history of the Panama Canal but also the changes, development and stability in the country's history. It is a place not to be missed. (The day I went, admission was free since the museum was celebrating its 28th anniversary.)
