Six of us stayed at The Bell for three days with the Christmas package, and had a wonderful time. The whole place is beautifully done, the rooms were very comfortable, and other interiors really gorgeous. The food, and Christmas lunch especially was all delicious. Four of us are gluten free, and there were plenty of options. We received incredibly good service from all staff, and couldn’t fault anything about our stay. Thank you to everyone at The Bell!

Cozy interior with private feeling table. Best fries we had in the Cotswolds. Kids enjoyed their burgers - grateful for a kids menu! Mains were all "heavier" options, so I chose soup and side salad. Celeriac soup was nice.

Food lovely but we were in restaurant (not main bar) and it was really chilly.  Was one of coldest days of year, but was expecting it to nice and cosy.

A lovely place. Great service.
The Sunday lunch: the beef was a strange texture we think it had been brined, veg over cooked, roast potatoes hard not fluffy/ we could’ve done ourselves better. Gravy poured over the Beef not good. On positive side generous portions.
The sticky toffee pudding glorious.

Location is beautiful and charming, as is the interior and the pub itself but I don’t necessarily enjoy going here.

On 4/5 occasions as I am local I have found service very impersonal and frosty. It’s clear the staff don’t really enjoy their jobs. I find it’s the same at Daylesford. This seems to be a running theme across the Bamfords businesses in the Cotswolds.

As I say, the interior of the pub is beautiful, the outdoor garden is fantastic in summer. The bar area is a let down too as it’s so small. I think it would have been great to capture a pub atmosphere with a larger bar area but I guess its bottoms on seats eating food that brings the ££ in. Understandable but still a shame as atmosphere lacks as a result. Overall the establishment feels lacking in hospitality, personality and atmosphere.

We were plonked in a cold room beside a very draughty window on a freezing day. The fire wasn’t lit, the lamps on the table too dim to see anything, no background music, the room felt like a shell without any atmosphere at all. Our server just went through the motions, no smile, no personality at all.

The beef ragu we were served was basically a beef stew with some tagliatelle thrown in. Wasn’t as glorious as advertised sadly.

For me The Bell is reminiscent of a theme park rather than the ‘real thing’. I suggest the Royal Oak in Ramsden for the ‘real thing’, its a short 6/7 minute drive away.
