A lovely evening at Box E! Each dish of the tasting course was well balanced and flavoursome, the local ingredients really sang through! Would definitely recommend for a special occasion. Service was smooth and very friendly. Absolutely divine wine selection also. The only thing I would say, I stated in my email that it was going to be my birthday the night we were dining, and as a restaurant of this standing, I did expect them to do something to acknowledge that, maybe a candle or gesture at the end of the meal. But regardless it was still a wonderful night!

Had a wonderful Saturday lunch. Tasting menu was delicious and good value for the care and quality. Very accommodating for our kids. Recommended stop if you’re in the area 😁. Highlights for us were: the scallop soup; trout; hake; and ALL the desserts!

I am Box-e fan since they first opened (over 8 yrs ago!). Food is great, we went for tasting menu and there wasn’t a single dish we didn’t enjoy. And panna cotta.. is the best one I have ever had.
There are many fine dining restaurants I have visited in Bristol, but Box-E is a true gem!

Location was nice, good space between tables, heater and blankets for the outside.
Service was impeccable in everything.
Food was good, some dishes really good, I do like some “stronger” tastes but is a personal thing.
I done the 5 courses unwritten degustation menu.
Really enjoyed the first course (the tomatoes were amazing with the onglet), and last the lamb with beans.
I give 4 stars instead of 5 because I think generally the portions were a bit small, in couple of occasions (marmalade with the cheese or the orange in the dessert) the portion was really tiny.

Absolutely delicious meal! We went for the tasting menu and were so pleased we did! Every course was fantastic and brought new flavours, it was also incredible value for money for the quality and quantity! The atmosphere was relaxed but upbeat and the service was faultless. Wouldn’t hesitate to return!
