En mycket gemytlig matupplevelse i hållbarhetens tecken på en fantastiskt vacker plats med utsikt över Mälaren. Här får du äta väldigt god mat, lagad på exceptionella råvaror från närområdet. Menyn brukar bestå av 6-10 rätter och följer aktuell säsong, men har också spännande inslag av konserverade råvaror från tidigare säsonger som förhöjer upplevelsen ytterligare. Du får smaka på allt från närodlade grönsaker, kött från lokala bönder och jägare, fisk från Mälaren samt svamp, bär och frukt som ofta plockats av kocken och hans familj. Du sitter tillsammans med de andra sju gästerna (restaurangen har åtta platser) vid ett högt vackert bord med utsikt över köket. Här står krögaren och kocken Gustav Öhman som har en stark passion och kreativitet i sin matlagning, vilket märks i varje rätt. Rätterna monteras och serveras över bordet direkt från köket av Gustav själv, som också är den enda som jobbar i restaurangen. Till maten kan du välja att dricka intressanta natur- och biodynamiska viner eller spännande alkoholfria drycker ofta från lokala producenter.

Förutom att Gustav både lagar och serverar all mat själv berättar han gärna, på ett trevligt och lättsamt sätt, både om utmaningarna, men särskilt om möjligheterna att förädla de lokala råvarorna, utveckla maträtterna och driva restaurangen på ett så hållbart sätt som möjligt. Det blir därför många intressanta samtal med både kocken och de andra gästerna vid bordet. Här får du smaka på det bästa från Mälaren och Sörmlands skogar, odlare och andra producenter. Maten tillsammans med historierna bakom maten och samtalen runt bordet ger dig en helt unik upplevelse.

A very pleasant dining experience in the sign of sustainability in a fantastically beautiful place with a view of Lake Mälaren. Here you can eat very good food, made with exceptional ingredients from the local area. The menu usually consists of 6-10 dishes and follows the current season, but also has exciting elements of preserved ingredients from previous seasons that enhance the experience even further. You get to taste everything from locally grown vegetables, meat from local farmers and hunters, fish from Mälaren as well as mushrooms, berries and fruit often picked by the chef and his family. You sit together with the other seven guests (the restaurant seats eight) at a high, beautiful table overlooking the kitchen. Here stands restaurateur and chef Gustav Öhman, who has a strong passion and creativity in his cooking, which is evident in every dish. The dishes are assembled and served over the table directly from the kitchen by Gustav himself, who is also the only one working in the restaurant. With the food, you can choose to drink interesting natural and biodynamic wines or exciting non-alcoholic drinks, often from local producers.

In addition to the fact that Gustav both cooks and serves all the food himself, he is happy to talk, in a pleasant and light-hearted way, both about the challenges, but especially about the opportunities to refine the local ingredients, develop the dishes and run the restaurant in the most sustainable way possible. There will therefore be many interesting conversations with both the chef and the other guests at the table. Here you can taste the best from Mälaren and Sörmland's forests, growers and other producers. The food together with the stories behind the food and the conversations around the table give you a completely unique experience.

I går var vi på en restaurang, eller i någons kök. Det var en fantastisk upplevelse. Gustav Öhman berättar och skapar samtidigt som vi sitter där runt hans bord och får kännas oss speciellt inbjudna till en kväll vi sent ska glömma. Rekommenderar alla ett besök här. Jag bokar in mig nästa år igen, så fort nya tider i kalendern släpps! Gör det ni också, bästa på länge.

Yesterday we were at a restaurant, or in someone's kitchen. It was an amazing experience. Gustav Öhman narrates and creates at the same time as we sit around his table and feel specially invited to an evening we will soon forget. Recommend everyone a visit here. Att besöka Skalla Bord är som att gå på en föreställning, Gustav Öhman lagar maten mitt framför oss matgäster, han visar och berättar. Och vi gäster är fullt delaktiga i föreställningen. Samtalet flyter över alla ämnen men med fokus på mat och miljö. En upplevelse som jag vill uppleva minst en gång per årstid.

Visiting Skalla Bord is like going to a show, Gustav Öhman cooks the food right in front of us diners, he shows and tells. And we guests are fully involved in the performance. The conversation flows over all topics but with a focus on food and the environment. An experience that I want to experience at least once a year.
