For our first anniversary, my husband planned a special trip to Sweden, starting in Stockholm and ending with a stop in Mälmo before heading back to Germany. He was excited to treat me to what he’d heard was a gem of a restaurant—Mezza Beirut. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but delightful.

We called ahead to reserve a table and were told we were welcome anytime. However, upon arrival, things took a turn. We were seated at a table that hadn’t been cleaned, and when we politely asked the waiter to clean it, he responded with a clear lack of enthusiasm.

Things didn’t improve from there. When we requested a menu, the waiter refused to bring one and instead offered vague options like "grilled dish" or "meat." Even when we asked about the prices, he seemed to be making numbers up on the spot. We decided to order just one meal to test the waters, but the waiter insisted that we order one dish per person.

At that point, we’d had enough. We stood up and left, disappointed and frustrated by the whole experience. What should have been a memorable meal turned out to be memorable for all the wrong reasons. Unfortunately, Mezza Beirut was a major letdown.

Pretty good food, nice location, just too much food for anyone to finish! Perfectly sufficient to order one for two!
