Compartir Barcelona is a beautifully designed restaurant with a promising concept, but our experience fell short, especially for a Michelin establishment.

The service was friendly but nervous, which created an awkward atmosphere. There was also little engagement about the wines served, which was disappointing as we were eager to learn more.

The food was a mixed experience. Some highlights included the croquettes (a standout with their hoisin and cucumber pairing) and the mackerel with mushrooms, which had an interesting and unexpected flavor combination. However, several dishes fell flat. The pork dish was overly sweet and oily, making it feel heavy and unbalanced, while the rice with squab was overwhelming in portion size and poorly executed. The squab itself was lifeless, lacking both flavor and texture. Additionally, the tomato bread—something we thoroughly enjoyed across Spain—was sadly the least impressive we had on our trip.

While the creativity and ambition are evident, the dishes often felt overcomplicated and missing the depth of flavor one expects at this level. Simplicity and refinement might better showcase the quality of their ingredients and culinary vision.

This restaurant is completely overrated. We came here for lunch and ordered six dishes, including two appetizers and four mains. Unfortunately, the experience was far from enjoyable.

The waitress rushed us through every dish and even took away my plate while I was still eating—without even asking if I was finished! The whole meal felt rushed, as if we were on her schedule rather than dining at our own pace. It made the experience stressful, and we couldn’t properly enjoy the food.

As for the food, most of it was just okay—not remarkable. However, the rice dish we ordered was unbearably salty. All four of us, including a local, found it inedible. When we mentioned this to the waitress, she just shrugged and said it was salty because of the ham, offering no resolution or acknowledgment of the issue. None of us could finish the rice, and the dismissive response was extremely disappointing.

Overall, it was a rushed, unsatisfying meal with poor customer service. I would not recommend this place.

Delicious food, great experience. The staff member at the door was not very welcoming until we had proof of a reservation, it was a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise, everything was perfect! The food was great, and they advised us well on the quantities (the concept is to share everything), the staff at the table was lovely and very helpful. We had people with dietary restrictions and they managed it seamlessly.

Highly anticipated this restaurant for our trip and it was worth the wait! Such hospitable staff, delicious food, and cozy environment. Book in advance as they do get busy. One of our best meals of the trip.

We had a lovely lunch at Compartir. We had high expectations and they were pleasantly met. The food was delicious, very creative, and good portions. We tried only small plates to share but I look forward to coming back to try entrees. Beautiful setting, great service, outstanding food. We will be back!
