Worst service I have had in my life. Ordered room service, waited for many hours, tried calling reception, no response. Visited restaurant, they said they would bring up. Visited again, they said the same again. It’s been over 3h now and I am worried about showering and going to bed in case my food arrives. Not a single apology, not a single person being nice to me through this, just arrogant and rude and clearly had no time for me. Meanwhile I am paying 300 euro for the night. I am so disappointed.

I know this is a difficult time with a storm in the city. There is nowhere that is open so nowhere else I can go for food and I am sure staff have been under strain. I would’ve understood delays and problems but I don’t understand being mean and rude

Great Hotel, Friendly Staff and very Welcoming. Rooms are excellently presented and Clean.
Fantastic Location next to the train station and can get a taxi into the City Center or Marina for 6 Euros.
Only 20 minutes in a taxi from Airport.
Prices at the bar and the City as a whole are very reasonable.
Great City break. Will be returning and booking in at this Hotel.

Barcelo Malaga is located right next to the train and bus station, which makes it convenient for getting to Ronda and Granada —-but that's where all the benefits end.  Rooms on 8th floor was being remodeled, and noises, paint fumes made my stay very unpleasant.   Rooms are very basic, built economically and furnished with budget material.  I got the “luxury” 35 sq. m. room and it did not impress.  Very poor interior lighting and difficult to work at night, sitty in that flimsy chair by tiny desk.  They do provide slippers, robes, and mini fridge stocked with drinks (a la carte). On 13 Nov. 2024 there were heavy rains and whole city was shut down; all businesses and restaurants closed even though there was no flooding.   So only place open was hotel’s restaurant, which only starts dinner at 9  pm. On that terrible night, I was stranded (hello Covid-19 again!) and had to eat there.  It's a fixed menu, 3 course meal:  Fish or beef stew, soup, then a slice of cake, 28 euros.   Cafeteria grade food served on nice plates, a huge letdown for a “4 star” hotel.After that dinner experience, I didn't bother with their breakfast and went out for sandwiches and coffee.  Front staff are ok.  I would not recommend this place to anyone but it doesn't stop busloads of tourists from arriving every day.

Great hotel with friendly and helpful staff.  The rooms are clean, spacious and have huge comfortable beds. The breakfast has a huge range of cooked food and cereals, along with an omelette station.  The hotel has a rooftop bar and pool which is a great place to chill out (or rather get sunburnt).  Stayed here twice and the only slight downside is getting into the town but its only a few Euros and the taxi rank is next door, so no problems there.

Great hotel, easy access from station. Room v gd, booked junior suite. Pool good and breakfast good too. Would definitely recommend. Thank you to the hotel for our bottle of champagne.
