Outstanding food with beautiful views across the roof tops of Estepona and further along the coastline. Great background music enhanced the fabulous atmosphere and ambiance. The meet and greet of guests I suggest needs to be reviewed as people wander into the restaurant and bar area upstairs like lost souls. No obvious waiting area or head of front of house to check in with. We noted there is a little arrogance and amateurish service in the organising of staff which is a little off putting and why it is 4 out of 5. The food punched flavour and excellently presented. The wine selection very nice. The cocktails were a little watery but we coped with that 😉 A great restaurant and highly recommend

Makako restaurant, located on the rooftop of Hotel El Pilar. Upon entrance in the lobby you can take the elevator to the 5th floor. The rooftop has a gorgeous view over the city and the square below. Making a reservation for dinner is advised, also during the off season (early October). The food was ok-ish, nothing too shockingly good or extraordinary. We had sushi rolls as a starter, and noodles with beef as a main. The noodles were extremely salty (!!!!) which is a shame. Water bottles only come in small sizes. They do make very nice cocktails, can highly recommend the daiquiri strawberry frozen and the mojito. The ambiance is on point, really nice.

Would we return? No. But whilst visiting Estepona for the first time, it’s a nice place to have visited.

Delicious Asian/Peruvian/Spanish restaurant in Estepona. Beautifully decorated and yummy flavours! Love the wagyu burgers, the tuna tataki tostada and the salmon foie roll.

This is hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever been to.
We saw it on Instagram and had hoped to visit during out stay and weren't disappointed.
The location is just amazing, the rooftop setting on top of the hotel looking out over the rooftops of Estepona is pretty magical in the eve ing as the sun is setting and the lights are twinkling.
The sushi was so tasty and the prawn Pad Thai was so flavoursome. The best bit for me was the black sesame creme brulle with miso ice cream, wow, just wow!
The prices are so reasonable too, a real gem of a place. Thank you for an amazing evening.
If you get a chance to visit when you're in Estepona, jump at it!

The service was really good as well as the food. Really delicious! But they didn’t provide vegetarian options.
