I came as a walk in and for the beginning the atmosphere is lovely and very lively. I was greeted and shown such incredible service the entire time - the service staff is so professional, helpful and friendly. The food is truly tops!! I was told food in Malta can be hit or miss, but this place is a massive hit!!! I started with the staccatela salad - so fresh, a great portion with many vegetables and a delicious salad dressing.  I then had the filet steak prepared medium-rare and it was done to perfection. The special house sauce to accompany it is to die for and so delicious with so many amazing flavors. I had the garlic mash potatoes- perfect and whipped yumminess!! I highly recommend this place after a day in the old town of Valetta - I would definitely come back again!!

The pros : excellent choice of wine and food, aimed at the red meat lovers. Good service, albeit a bit irregular (starters arrived promptly but mains took some time). Nice soundtrack
The cons : no Dijon mustard was available, despite having “French” ketchup. Hard to understand. Prices are on the high side for Malta.

Pros: food was ok to nice. Desert was very nice.
Cons:Many items were out of stock limiting selections. Service was good but their English was bad,making it extremely hard to understand. Worst part that the room temperature was extremely hot making the experience unbearable and the table for 4 was extremely small for such an expensive restaurant!

We had a bad experience with a severely over cooked steak, hence the bad review. We ordered the filet frites (steak frites with filet mignon) and asked that the steak be cooked medium rare. When served, it is served sliced, and it was very obviously overcooked to medium well plus (the end bits were very well done). I was kind of full from the appetizers, so I just said to my waiter “I’m not going to send this back because I don’t care that much, but it’s definitely overdone, right? You can see that it’s not medium rare.” And he replied (no joke) “Sometimes the color of the actual meat varies, which is why it looks darker.” And I said “You’re kidding me, right?” And he basically shrugged and that was that. Look at the attached photos. I was in shock because I didn’t really care until he tried to pull the meat color variation line. And this is a steakhouse! Later in the meal, the waiter came over to say “I told the chef about the issue with the steak.” And that was it. No “Would you like us to remake it?” “Would you like something else?” “I’m so sorry.” None of that. Crazy! Aside from being overcooked and super dry, it was very tender and well seasoned.

Other than the crazy steak experience, we really enjoyed the food. We had the KFC chicken “nugget” app (pretty spicy), the calamari app (good sized portion, cool curry flavor, but not very crunchy), the tonkatsu Milanese (so tender and delicious!), and the zucchini (grilled Italian-style with sun dried tomatoes and Parmesan - it was okay).

The service is not friendly, very businesslike and kind of…snotty/aloof…?

The restaurant itself is very beautiful. It’s smallish and had a steady stream of diners on a weeknight, so make a reservation.

Quiet lunchtime session. Waiters were attentive and polite. Staff kept the glasses topped up, and the plates were cleared efficiently. Food was tasty and nicely presented. They made sure to acknowledge our celebration. An amuse bouche or bread basket wouldn't go amiss, if I had to point out something for improvement... but otherwise, a worthwhile experience and interesting menu. Ambience is classy and cosy. Definitely different to the look and feel of their beachside outlet in Bugibba. I personally prefer the City outlet, and can imagine it is lovely in the wintertime especially. All in all, a recommended venue that is worth a try.
