A local hidden gem. The restaurant has family-run vibes and is warm, homey, and conveniently placed - about 1 minute from the Cà D’oro vaporetto.

The decor is tasteful and classy but still down-to-earth. The staff are kind, observant, and genuinely want you to have a positive experience.

The food was spectacular and reasonably pieced. I can highly recommend this place to someone looking to experience a true local Venetian trattoria.

1. One of our pasta was very very raw, this comment is from an Italian
2. The shrimps were not fresh that night, we ordered two dishes containing shrimps, they were the same. We didn’t touch them.

The meatball and marinated sardine were good.

A friend recommended the meatballs at Ca Doro alla Vedova, and I have to say, they were incredibly tasty and delicious. However, I must point out that the service I received from the staff was quite disappointing and unkind. It’s a shame that such excellent food was paired with such poor service, as it detracted from the overall experience. I hope the restaurant can improve in this area.

Everything was very slow and we waited more than 30mins after sitting down for the food. At the end they still charged us for ‘coperto’. Tiramisu was super wet and muddy in the biscuit part, and the restaurant be like: this is how tiramisu tastes like. Very little tomato in my crab paste as well. Would not recommend coming to this restaurant!

Their reviews are well deserved. We arrived at around 7:30 and the entire place was packed. A line out the door. But I went in and asked if there was a table available for 6. They said they had one reserved but if we wanted to we could sit immediately and eat as long as we left by 8:30 when their reservation came. Which was so kind of them and we were sat right away, all six of us. The server was prompt and tried to explain things to us in English even though he spoke only Italian and Spanish. We ordered and the food came very quickly. Everything was delicious and beautiful. He kept refilling our bread which was nice. The half carafe of wine was enough for three glasses and was only 10 euro. The food was a perfect portion size, we ordered four entrees and it was enough for all six of us. The meatballs were incredibly. The pastas were perfect. And the service was very fast and accommodating. Please excuse the state of the food in the photos, we had already started eating it was so good.
