Everything about this place is memorable. Really quality homemade food, an imaginative menu, a huge selection of wine and wonderful personal customer service. The pasta is all homemade and served with delicious sauces. We visited with a child in a wheelchair and got in easily, the table height was perfect and the hosts made sure we were comfortable. A must visit place. We will certainly go back.

We shared a lovely evening at Da Alighiero, which is just a short walk from the main square, Piazza Baldaccio, in Anghiari. The Florentine steak was amazing, the wine was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy and romantic. We had the opportunity to meet the proprietor, Sylvia, who is such a delightful and interesting woman - she was so welcoming, both to her restaurant and to the town. I can guarantee we will be back!

To be avoided… 40 Euro for 3 bruschette (one of which only toasted bread with olive oil) and 3 Euro cover and the silver ware is placed in a bucket on the table… the bread was good, though. Portions are small for the price of the pasta dishes, and quality is questionable. I had the brigoli al sugo… ok, but not Michelin standards. Service was also questionable. We felt like we were asking for a favor for every little thing. They don’t even leave the parmigiano on the table. You can find a better place!

We had read the large number of negative reviews regarding the service/attitude of the owner, however we thought we'd try it anyway as the food sounded so good.

SO GLAD WE DID

Absolutely no complaints. The food was even better than we expected and, maybe its a result of the negative reviews, the owner and service were excellent.

We were made to feel very welcome and he was not at all rude. It's been the best meal we've had all holiday and would definitely go back.

Amazing food, and really friendly service.  This place has a lot of character with it's traditional theme and setting.  The food was amazing, especially the tripe and gnocchi.  Combined with the cold cuts plate was a lot of food and appropriately priced.  We also got a local bottle of wine recommended by our very friendly server, Gianni.  Will definitely return.
