This legendary restaurant in Sienna is beloved by locals and travellers alike as the place to try local ingredients brilliantly prepared with local recipes. The signature pasta of Tuscany is the fat chewy Picci, which is expertly prepared in one of the regions most revered recipes. The wine cellar inside the restaurant is a 200 BC Etruscan dwelling.

I ordered the traditional dishes and it was a super memorable experience!

This taverna is coming from the paradise of food pleasure and you will wonder many times if you are in the middle of a dream!
It can be a reason to visit Siena and enjoy an outstanding dinner that will set new heights to your gastronomic standards.
Every dish we ordered was scrumptious, from pasta to main dishes and dessert including the wines!
Highly recommended and a must visit if you are in the magic Tuscany area!

As we have confirmed with the management of this restaurant: "This restaurant is no longer Michelin!"

Yes, their situation is worse than this result. I don't know if they are desperate after being delisted in 2024. First of all, the 10% service charge is ridiculous and seems like robbery, because it is not even up to the service of a normal restaurant. They are arrogant, rude and unprofessional!

The waiters threw the dishes at us randomly with a bad attitude without asking us what we needed, including touching the middle of the plate with their thumbs and the tableware being knocked off the table. One of the barbaric waiters (*with a beard) behaved even worse, asking us to bend down and move our seats to the aisle for him many times, but he could have chosen another aisle. The seats in the restaurant are already very narrow and inconvenient. After we refused for the second time, he replied "Yes, he is a rude person", and then he still chose to pass behind our seats. Including not getting his apology after the end, if you want to try to be offended, you can try this restaurant!

As for the food, the taste can only be ordinary, the presentation is not aesthetically pleasing, not to mention that we are not in the mood to taste it.

Best to reserve a table ahead of time as the restaurant is famous in the area. The owners were there to host every client in person which made it extra special and classic for the place. I could tell they really advocated the hospitality and service , making the food and experience to another level.

I recently dined at La Taverna and I must say that the food was nothing short of spectacular.

This place truly deserves its four-star rating for the quality and creativity of its dishes. From the moment we were seated, we could tell that the chef has a passion for culinary artistry.
Each plate was beautifully presented, and every bite was packed with flavor, showcasing fresh ingredients and innovative combinations.

We started with the truffle eggs which was a perfect introduction to the meal. The pasta was okay seasoned. Even the dessert, tiramisu was a delightful conclusion to our meal.

However, my experience was marred by the service. While the restaurant was busy, which is often a good sign, the wait time was noticeably longer than expected. We waited over 45 minutes just to place our order, and then it took another 45 minutes for our food to arrive.

I understand that peak times can lead to delays, but the lack of communication from the staff made it frustrating.

The servers seemed overwhelmed and rarely checked in with us during our wait.

We would have appreciated updates or at least a glass of water while we waited. It’s disappointing when the service doesn’t match the quality of the food.

Overall, while I highly recommend the food.
I hope they can improve their service and reduce wait times in the future. If they can address this issue, I would easily give them a five-star review on my next visit.
