We had a wonderful, dreamy stay at this gorgeous hotel. Upon check in, we were told about the rich history of the house by the receptionist. The terrace area is to die for, and overlooks the grounds of a private garden and observatory. We didn’t mind that we couldn’t walk the gardens, they are beautiful enough to just enjoy by sight. Eating breakfast on the terrace was so relaxing and felt like we were in a movie. I really like that this hotel is on the other side of the river, bc the seclusion of the hotel and the garden really makes you feel like you’re in the Tuscan countryside.

Our room was gorgeous, a suite with a tub by the bed, and still a separate bathroom with a shower. Our window overlooked the terrace and gardens as well. The room was well maintained and beautifully decorated. The entire hotel is gorgeously designed, one can really feel the history of the house in every room since everything is well preserved.

There are many restaurants nearby and it was still easy to get to all the sights. We liked that it was quieter on this side of the river.

We were SO sad to leave as this was probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in, but we will be sure to hurry back with family and friends.

I highly recommend Ad Astra to anyone looking for a unique hotel experience in a more quiet part of Florence. The location is on the quieter side of the river where there are plenty of restaurants and more local boutique shops and piazzas. I really enjoyed exploring and being amongst italian locals as its way less touristy, but also still walking distance to the museums across the way. The staff were all incredibly helpful and polite and make you feel so welcome, like you are visiting family. The design is so warm and cozy, and again, it is like you are staying at someones beautiful mansion. The common area is super comfortable for hanging out and relaxing and they put out a breakfast buffet and snacks throughout the day. They will also make you coffee or cappuccinos throughout the day as well - and everything is included in your rate. The balcony overlooking the garden is beautiful and peaceful and I really enjoyed sitting out there in the morning or evening to relax. One night I even brought back a pizza to enjoy overlooking the gardens. My room was also very cozy and I loved the bathtub to unwind after a long day of walking and exploring. My room was very spacious and had everything I needed; robe and slippers, blow dryer, a safe, hangers, water, coffee, etc. I love stayed at Ad Astra and feeling like a local and I know you will too! Tranquil Florentine paradise at the correct side to hang out on the River Arno. The location is unbelievably serene and overlooking the most beautiful garden; breakfasts on the patio are my absolute favourite thing in the world. I have multiple cherished memories at Ad Astra, my favourite ones being in the particularly special Room 3. A bubble bath in the stunning vintage bath, with the balcony doors open, admiring the garden and listening to the bells and birdsong. Heavenly.

This is the neighborhood of Florence where you'll find the genuine places the locals frequent.

The staff are so unbelievably kind and there is a genuine warmth to how this hotel is run. Always miss it. My favourite hotel (and I love fabulous hotels).

Can’t say enough good things about this small hotel. So beautiful and very comfortable rooms. Huge gorgeous bath tubs. Delicious breakfast. But the stand out was the staff, who went above and beyond with restaurant reservations, arrangements for a museum tour, and other recommendations. Would definitely return.

Quiet and cozy property, located alongside a beautiful private garden. We had a comfortable & relaxing stay for 2 nights, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Loved the views of the garden from the room and the warm hospitality.
Sadly the garden is not accessible to guests. But a private tour can be arranged by placing a request in advance with the hotel staff.
