Unbelievably beautiful hotel in a magnificent setting.  Even better than the photographs.  Service in the hotel and restaurant were great.   We were looking forward to enjoying spectacular dinners in the restaurant.  Unfortunately, the pasta was mushy and tasteless both nights...in Italy.!...        The rest of the food was good, but not great. Portions very small.   Service in the bar...not so much.  We had to fetch a bottle of wine from our room and open it ourselves on the bar balcony because the bartender was busy discussing his basketball career at length with another table.   Bar snacks like olives had to be requested,  and portions were very small.  An appetizer menu would be a nice addition.  I'm giving it only 3 stars because you really are captive at the hotel for mediocre dining options given its remote location.

If I could give them 10 stars, I totally would. We stayed here for the last night of our family vacation. Prior to this we stayed all throughout Rome as well as did a cruise around the Mediterranean. No, we didn't see everything Italy had to offer but at this point, I don't need to. The location, staff, food, etc...everything was brilliant.

I really don't know how anyone could have anything disappointing to say. There are even ruins in the basement!

We will be back, one day.

A two night stay. To start with the positives, the property itself is beautiful with lovely interiors, garden and view. Unfortunately the service (with the exception of the pool staff), quality of food and attentiveness of staff is well below average. Definitely not a 5 star hotel standard, as reflected in the prices. Service, and quality of the food and drinks is what you would expect of a 3 star hotel.

Having stayed at the sister property on many occasions (il Pelicano), and thoroughly enjoying the experience, our expectation of a stay at La Posta Vecchia was high.

Objectively this was the worst hotel stay in the ‘luxury category’. The expectation at this price point is not met. Aside from the aesthetic of the property, unfortunately there is nothing luxurious about a stay at La Posta Vecchia.

La Posta Vecchia is absolutely divine! We stayed for the weekend in the Olive Suite and the Castello Suite. Both were beautiful and had lovely views. We experienced a warm welcome, delicious meals and attentive service. The setting is gorgeous. Worth every penny and looking forward to our return.
