We stayed at the Hotel Capo d’Africa-Colosseo on our last night in Italy.  The hotel location was a short walk to the Colosseum.  The hotel is close to restaurants and shopping.  The room was clean and comfortable and it was quiet. We enjoyed a drink on the rooftop bar and the view at breakfast was a great view of the Colosseum.  The staff were wonderful and provided great recommendation for dinner.  Highly recommend for location and customer service.

Service was excellent.  From the front desk to servers. The drinks were always cold and fresh.
Their roof top view brought immediate calm and relaxation every time we ate.
The interactions with the staff and my son made this choice even more accepting and magical.
The cleaning was timely and impeccable. The hotel was never crowded or backed up. If you visit Rome, stay here

A great hotel at a great location to the Colosseum.

We booked a standard room, and the size was great for two people.  Had all the traditional amenities in a hotel (toiletries, bottle of water, and a mini bar) and had daily turn down service.  The bed was comfortable for me (it is a firmer bed which I prefer) and they had two different types of pillows (a soft pillow and a firmer pillow).

We also got the breakfast with our stay and recommend at least going once if you didn't pre pay for it. The terrace has lovely views of the city, plus you can see the colosseum while having breakfast.

The street is a bit challenigng for taxi's to get to, but it can be done as we ordered several while staying there.

Great location very friendly staff at the front desk. Helped us book an outside table at a local restaurant right in front of the Coliseum at 10:00pm at night. Made for a beautiful evening in Rome. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

My experience here was not bad, but I did not feel like it was a 4 star hotel. I booked after a recommendation from a friend. I should have researched the hotel more. Let me start with the positive - the staff is wonderful! They are very kind and helpful with whatever you need. The 24 hr concierge is great. We stayed for 6 nights so all the staff recognized us. Cleaning services are prompt, and laundry service is fast. The location is also amazing - right by the Colosseo.

However, the hotel itself is outdated. The TV is flatscreen but not smart, and has limited channels (no Sky TV). The wifi is spotty. The king bed is actually 2 twin beds pushed together, so there is a crack in the middle which is unideal. There were ants in the bathroom and shower, and the water temperature/pressure is not consistent.

My suggestion to improve the guest experience by upgrading things and dealing with the ant problem. I just read a response to a review here that said they are planning to renovate soon, so hopefully they do.
