The view from the top was breathtaking! Enjoyed my visit to the castle even though it was solo. There was a group of architucture college students with their professor from the USA who were spending their 3rd college year in Rome who asked me to take a group photo and it almost felt like a scene from a movie!

Initially the tomb of Emperor Hadrian, the castle has evolved over the centuries into a wonderful culmination of styles and is the most unique castle I have visited.

The views from the top of the castle over Vatican City are second to none and It is a great place to admire the views or take pictures.

Some of the rooms are incredibly beautiful and rival some of the rooms on the Vatican, and unlike the Vatican you aren't pressured to move on if you don't want to.

Highly recommend visiting on a trip to Rome, and it is one of the best attractions in Rome that I have visited.

Nice small old building. Named in many books. The nice history on display walking upwards. For us the view over Rome was most epic!

Very much a mausoleum for the most part; steeped in visitors of course but after the Vatican and saint peters, it’s very plain. However the history speaks for itself and the room at the top with the frescoes and museum is worth it. Plus fantastic views of saint peters!

Extremely large castle with lots to explore! It has many rooms with interesting paintings and artifacts. It’s fun to walk around and go on all the levels. Lots of beautiful things to look at. It took us 2.5 hours to explore. Bathrooms are free onsite and admission is $16.50 EUR. This is worth it if you’re looking to visit a castle in Rome!
