This place is great. Staff is friendly and helpful, the place is clean, and has all the basics for a hostel. The location is super close to the main walking street and grocery stores. Unfortunately, a lot of it is currently under construction. I went a few years ago when it was considered a cool hostel, and it really was, so I think it’ll be that again once the renovations are done.
In the meantime, if you’re just looking for a place to stay close to the city that’s cheap, this is it!

Before anything else, I should mention the restaraunt and gym and other facilities were closed due to construction, which has affected my rating.
This was my first hostel experience, and it was largely pleasant. There are flaws, of course: the floors are chalky and the other guests can be either very pleasant or borderline crazy. One receptionist would refuse to give a complimentary towel, and would just say it's 1000 krona, even though every other receptionist would willingly go ahead and give it. He smell from the bathrooms was occasionally pretty rank, but theres enough options that you can usually choose a cleaner one. The kitchen sink was often filled with drying or dirty dishes. The other people on my trip got sick, and they theorized it was caused by either mold or the incessant construction outside. Which is another point: the construction often woke me up in the early hours of the morning, and disturbed what would otherwise be a great experience. Be aware of this if you're planning on coming in the next few months.
However, there are plenty of positives: the breakfast, although simple, was free and nutritious. The water temp usually reached the desired temp instantaneously. The tap was also so fresh and clean, which is very different from American tap water. The beds were simple, but surprisingly comfortable. It has great view of the bay. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, plates, bowls, and other things you'd need.

Hostel is getting renewed so there is noise and stuff around. There is not elevator, and nobody will help you out with big suitcases.
Personal is basic, they are not kind nor bad they just accomplish their job.
Beds are comfortable and they are clean.
There are plenty of bathrooms to share, I didn't have to make a line or wait for turn. They are not dirty, but they are not clean.

Place is quiet in general.

I didn't know how to choose a "female" only room so the second time I stayed there I had to be in a mixed room and when I asked, they told me I had to choose female room option which I didn't have otherwise I would do it and my first stay I would had had the same problem which I didn't. Receptionist just said take the room or if you are leaving let me know.

Overall, it's a place to have a bed, bathroom and kitchen and in my opinion, for short stays.

Stayed a few days and had an overall good experience when it comes to staff, beds and feeling like you get what you pay for- a fairly regular Hostel. However, when we arrived the whole place was under construction, a small factor I have to put under consideration when rating the place and the  bathrooms/ restrooms were a bit too icky for my liking, hence the three stars

Great location and rooms (stayed for 3 nights in a 4 bed and 8 bed hostel) - very close to the centre within walking distance to everything you’d need.

There is currently renovations going on (12/12/24) so a large amount of the lower floors are closed and reception is on the 3rd floor. However, sure that when the renovations are complete it will be an even better place to stay!
