We were told by others in town that this was "Iceland's best gin bar" and I fully believe it. The drinks are great (try their house smoked negroni!), they have a large selection of interesting Icelandic gins and beers from small breweries, and the service is top notch. Both Georg and Freddie taught us a bunch and were great to chat with. We had so much fun we came back a second time the same day.

We came in wanting to try these Icelandic wild ales that we'd read about and which they only just started carrying and so only had room temp bottles of and they put one on ice for us. Also if you're looking for suggestions on where to buy stylish clothes in Reykjavik, just ask Georg :)

Amazing IPA, friendly staff, rustic interiors and brilliant murals. There's nothing about this place that falls short of expectations.

The atmosphere was my favorite. I felt like I was actually escaping the tourist-trampled streets just a block away. Don't get me wrong, I was one of those tourists!  Inside felt like a mix of visitors and locals, which was a welcome feeling. I was able to relax back in a corner with my drink and a good book, with a steady hum of conversation surrounding me.  After being disappointed that there wasn't a hazy or dark beer on tap, I ordered "something with whiskey," bartenders choice. The flavor did not disappoint, but the price at $22USD was a bit shocking as I paid my bill.

Kaldi Bar quickly became our favorite in Reykjavik! The Christmas seasonal beers were fantastic, and the vibe of the place was amazing.
