That was amazing Sunday we have group booking in Steinheuers and i am vegetarian and they offer some best vegetarian option and i loved it I love the staff service the there politeness in end we meet with head chef overall it was a nice experience to visit there.

A truly unique experience, we arrived mid day as stop over during our trip to Venice, the staff was most welcoming and service very attentive. Food was fantastic and selection of wines exceeded our expectation. I’d definitely a treat to be your guest. Forever on my travel map.

We were at Steinheuers for the first time for a special event called "Große Weine, Große Winzer", a showcase featuring an exceptional array of wines from the region and revered German vineyards, including the likes of Meyer-Näkel and Knipser. The restaurant was nothing short of remarkable – a sentiment echoed by its Michelin recognition, which is thoroughly merited. The pigeon, a dish of sublime perfection, was undoubtedly one of the best dishes of our lives. Yet, the brilliance did not end there; the entire menu was a tour de force of gastronomic excellence, each dish executed with masterful technique and meticulous attention to detail and understated elegance. The staff's impeccable service paralleled the culinary artistry – knowledgeable, attentive, and refined. For us, Steinheuers represents all the attributes that we love about fine dining. We are already anticipating our return to with great eagerness.

Located in the beautiful Ahr valley just past the big bridge (motorway A61).
On the outside it is an inconspicuous location. Upon entering we were warmly welcomed and given a table at the cigar lounge by the courtyard garden.
The menu is handwritten, in German, which takes some getting used to 😉
We chose the menu which started with 3 preparations of tuna. Pasta with stew in the middle, followed by a creamy, sour riesling soup with pike perch.
Main course was roe with pointed cabbage and spätzle. When asked whether the deer came from the immediate vicinity, the answer was not forthcoming. Dessert was a delicious creme brullee with strawberries and white chocolate ice cream.
The wine list was a real bible with many top German wine producers including the local Meyer-Näkel. 🍷
The service and Hospitality was excellent which is typical for a family company.
Absolutely recommended this restaurant for the kitchen and winelist.
We finished the dinner with a superb, local, Himbeere brand.

One of the best German fine dining restaurants. Loved the atmosphere, excellent cooking and really friendly staff. The owners are there themselves to make your experience special. The sommelier is really great … and funny. The foie gras was wonderful, the venison cooked to the point and every dish had these great jus or reductions. Pairing was excellent, the Jacquesson develops to be my favorite bubbly, the Ornellaia always to die for. The Ahr region is heavily affected by the flooding, so it’s amazing that there are great entrepreneurs who hold the fort!
