Typical German restaurant with good beer.
The service was efficient and friendly.
The food quality wasn't consistent.
Schnitzel was very good,  nuremberg sausages were goog, leberkase (meatloaf) was like "watery" and not good.
I would agree with other comments that sour cabbage and potato pure were mushy.
The atmosphere is cheerful

The restaurant atmosphere was nice and the service was attentive. The food was just okay. The pork knuckle was overcooked and the sauerkraut was mushy. The goulash soup was good.

If you're in Essen and want traditional German food & beer, then this is the place for you! The food was excellent and the service was amazing! We will be returning here again when we come to Essen again. Dankeschön to all the chefs & servers for a wonderful time

Had a great night here with some colleagues. Great range of Bavarian dishes, can definitely recommend the cheeae spatzle. Friendly staff and good atmosphere make it easy to recommend.

Very nice authentic German beerstube. The classic schnitzels were great and the service very friendly.
