We discovered this restaurant through the Michelin guide and decided to try it for a special birthday dinner. They served a wonderfully fluffy butter and sourdough bread as a starter, and it was absolutely delightful.

For appetizers, we tried the beet soup and goat cheese salad. Both were delicious and beautifully presented. However, the goat cheese salad didn’t include bacon and corn as listed on the menu but was instead a tasty purslane salad.

For mains, we had veal liver and duck. Both were flavorful, though the duck portion was quite small despite its reasonable price.

We placed the celebration candle on raspberry ice cream, which was incredibly delicious. Alongside the meal, we enjoyed a glass of red wine each and sparkling house wine with dessert.

The total cost came to €128. The service was good, and the staff were attentive. Overall, it was a memorable and pleasant experience.

Heute hatte unsere Wandergruppe das Weihnachtsessen im Wirtshaus Mättle. Wir haben alle das 4- Gang-Menü bestellt und es war von A bis Z ein genussreiches und geschmackreiches Essen. Die Weinkarte lässt keine Wünsche offen und die Bedienung war freundlich und sehr kompetent. Das Ambiente ist gemütlich und die Akustik lässt eine Unterhaltung locker zu. Letzlich war auch das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut. Wir werden sicher wieder an diesem schönen Ort einkehren.

Today our hiking group had Christmas dinner at the Mättle inn. We all ordered the 4-course menu and it was an enjoyable and tasty meal from A to Z. The wine list leaves nothing to be desired and the service was friendly and very competent. The ambience is cozy and the acoustics allow for a relaxed conversation. Ultimately, the price/performance ratio was also very good. We will definitely come back to this beautiful place.

Belle découverte. La carte est petite et tout est frais et le plus local possible. Les plats sont originaux et de saison. La salle est sobre et l'ambiance agréable. Bon choix de vin. Le service a été top et personnalisé pendant tout le repas et notre fils a même pu visiter les cuisines. Parking gratuit à deux pas

Great discovery. The menu is small and everything is fresh and as local as possible. The dishes are original and seasonal. The room is sober and the atmosphere pleasant. Good choice of wine. Das Essen war sehr gut. Bei der Preislage gehört allerdings auch ein gewisser Service und Bedienung dazu. Das hat uns leider nicht überzeugt. Es wirkte eher muffig und anfangs auch etwas ungeduldig. Lange Wartezeit vom Hauptgang da nur vier Heizplatten verfügbar sind!?! Zum Schluss wurde einfach ein anderes Sorbet serviert, anscheinend eine Verwechslung. Merkwürdig nur, dass es dann das gewünschte nicht mehr gab.

The food was very good. However, the price range also requires a certain level of service and operation. Unfortunately, that didn't convince us. It seemed rather musty and a bit impatient at first. Long waiting time for the main course because there are only four heating plates available!?! At the end a different sorbet was simply served, apparently a mix-up. It was just strange that what I wanted was no longer there.
