My wife and I stayed a week at Le Cinq Codet to celebrate our 33rd anniversary and had a marvelous time. It was our first time to stay on the West Bank. we truly loved the location. The hotel is quite beautiful with art throughout. There were many great things about the well appointed room. The ceilings were about 20’ high, the terrace was also huge, the bathtub made for a relaxing soak, the bed was comfortable and the sound proofing was nothing short of amazing. Breakfast was included and was excellent!  The service from the front desk to the waitstaff in the dining room to the housekeeping staff was gracious and exceptional. We hope to go back!

The rooms are extremely small. Location is great near by all attractions you want to have as a tourist. We had a bad experience with a good ring, which was stolen from the room during service. Yes it was our mistake to leave it visible, but by no reason a hotel employee should touch the guest belonging. The hotel didn’t do anything about it and left it as if nothing happened. We informed the concierge, room service and reception and nobody did anything. This is not a 5 star hotel as it claims, it could be a 3 or 4 but not 5 star. Service is just OK, nothing impressive. We had to request to clean the room at 5 pm for instance. Overall, we were ok thanks to the location but very disappointed about the facility and service.

Unprofessional staff that didn't allow me and family to check in after we paid the hotel in full.

The hotel managers (5 in total) came out and refuse to have 3 of us check into the room. We flew 10 hours from the US to Paris to be rejected by not 1 or 2 managers. Even adding security to the lobby to ensure we don't check it.  One manager stated its because we have our toddler son, we would need to get another room. Not sure if these  managers know that a toddler cant stay in a room by themselves.

To make matter worse, our friends from Spain were at the same hotel with two of their toddler kids in a smaller room.  So tell me the reason, why we were not able to check in.  I reserved a duplex room that was larger for a smaller party, and get rejected.

Clearly, its because of the color of my skin possibly. I have no other reason to think its something else   News flash Le Cinq Codet, my family is from Paris France, I have visited Paris 13 times, and never been turned down, rejected for a hotel before, or disrespected like this in any country (including America).

Do on to others as you would like them to do unto you. If I customer pays for services, they should have the ability to stay freely and not looked upon differently.

The only good thing about this situation was, we were able to get a better more friendlier hotel (true 5 star hotel) that didn't look at us differently.

We stayed in the Deluxe room/suite which was extremely spacious loft design, with a beautiful view, and extremely quiet. I think a lot of details of our room very immaculate and well-designed (including the light switches). The hotel location itself is a very optimal — close to the tower and Seine, but also very convenient to get to other areas of Paris via the subway (8 line), and a local grocery on the same street for amenities like snacks and water.

The hotel service was attentive and sincere throughout our whole stay from the moment we checked in. We also enjoyed being able to spend our credit when booking via Capital One flexibly between dining and spa. TVs in rooms included chrome-cast to watch movies and shows and the restaurant and bar were great. Overall a pleasant stay and 5-star experience.

**Terrible Experience and Unfair Treatment – Avoid This Hotel!**

I recently booked a room at Le Cinq Codet and had an extremely frustrating experience. We were a family of three (two adults and one little child). We booked a room 2 months prior and prepaid the full price (as requested by the hotel at the time of booking). The room was booked initially through booking.com but upon reservation, the hotel contacted us and asked for a direct transfer to the hotel account which we did instantly.

When we arrived at the hotel, they refused to check us in saying that their policy doesn’t let more than 2 person in the room. Nowhere on their website did it mention that their policy strictly allowed only two people in a room. We were happy to pay any extra costs but hotel response was to book a 2nd room at cost of extra 1000 euros per night. This was impossible for us as my little one is too anxious to sleep in a separate room. We are a family of 3 and would like to stay together.

When I looked around the hotel lobby, restaurant, I was already very disappointed as it didn’t look anywhere near 5 star property at all.

At other hotels, we’ve simply paid for the extra person (the child) without any issues. But at Le Cinq Codet, they didn’t even give us that option. Instead, they told us we couldn’t stay and essentially kicked us out! Worse still, they refused to refund the money even though we were not allowed to stay.

To make matters worse, they left us stranded with no alternative or assistance. It felt incredibly unsafe and unreliable to trust this hotel with your travel plans.

The communication skills of the staff including the manager was extremely poor with limited English speaking skills.

This is a small property, an old house in the backstreet which has been renovated and advertised as a fake 5 star hotel. The photos look very flashy but the actual property is well below the average.

They have refused to refund us. We regretted that we had already paid them. To make it even more frustrating, they got our credit card details first and authorized another 1000 euros at the reception before telling us we are unable to stay. This is criminal.

I wouldn't recommend anyone risk booking a room here, especially when they have such misleading policies and poor customer service. If you’re looking for a stress-free and safe stay, this is definitely **not** the place to go. Save yourself the frustration and choose a hotel that values it's guests
