I wanted to love the food here so bad based on the reviews and photos. But sadly I was disappointed.

I ordered the pork bao. There is so much fat and hardly any meat on it that I didn’t even eat it. 3/10

I also ordered the shrimp, ravioli, the version that wasn’t fried. And they were okay. I would like to say that the sauce on it was actually pretty good. I just didn’t love these. They were a 5/10 for me.

I also ordered the popcorn chicken, which was what I was looking forward to the most and again it was just OK I’d give it a 6/10. They chicken pieces were big and crispy. But not much flavor. The spicy mayo that came with it was absolutely diabolical. It literally was so plain with no flavor or spice and it whatsoever. 6/10

I did order a few items because I did want to try a lot of the menu and I just wasn’t that impressed. I was really sad.

The service was effective and efficient with friendly and focused staff.

If you’ve never tried smashed cucumbers, this is the place to do so.

The pork belly bao had a perfect balance of meat and fat and crispiness.

The cold noodles were a delight.

Everything was amazing!! Small restaurant with a great vibe. I would say a booking is essential. The popcorn chicken, bao, eggplant & smashed cucumbers were a highlight.
Thanks for a great night BAOBAR, we will for sure be back.

If you crave bao buns, go there. their are amazing.

Be aware, that there often is quite a bit of a queue during lunch time. It's worth it.

Excellent beef noodles. Don't expect a 5 star Michelin experience but service is friendly and efficient.
