Kauppatori
At the heart of Helsinki lies Kauppatori, a vibrant marketplace that blends the old-world charm of Finland with a spirited modern-day atmosphere. This bustling square, sprawled along the picturesque Eteläranta waterfront, entices visitors with its kaleidoscope of stalls offering everything from freshly caught fish to artisan crafts. As the sun rises over the harbor, the scent of baked goods wafts through the air, beckoning you towards local cafes where you can savor a steaming cup of coffee alongside a delectable pulla, a traditional Finnish sweet roll.
The square's charm is heightened by the stunning backdrop of historic buildings and the striking silhouette of the nearby Helsinki Cathedral, a sight that pairs beautifully with the rhythmic dance of seagulls as they glide overhead. Artisans and local farmers proudly display their wares, inviting you to sample the flavors of Finland—be it the tangy taste of cheese from a small farm or the vibrant bursts of berries picked fresh from the forest. Every corner of Kauppatori tells a story, from the wooden fishing boats docked at the harbor to the enchanting open-air stalls surrounded by the chatter of locals and tourists alike.
As the day melts into evening, the atmosphere transforms; the square hums with the sounds of live music and laughter as food trucks and outdoor restaurants serve up regional specialties, creating a lively spot to unwind under the glow of twilight. Whether you're exploring the depths of Finnish culture in the heart of Kauppatori, indulging in lively conversations at the bustling cafes, or simply soaking in the views of the sea and the skyline, this iconic square is a microcosm of the Nordic spirit, promising memories that linger long after the last bite.

Really like i Will 100% go back next time🇫🇮. Was here during the autumn so there wasn’t as many food stands. But really good traditional finnish food. I tried the salmon soup and the meat pie. The meat pie was good but not as tasty as the salmon soup🤤
