An unexpected site in Denmark. A ski centre within walking distance of the city centre.  I can't speak for the skiing experience, but the view from the top is astounding. I might add that is is free to visit the top, so if you're looking for something inexpensive to do on a nice day, CopenHill should be visited.

Visited in September. Despite the nice weather, it was still windy at the top. There were minimal unpleasant odors from the landfill, noticeable only at the base. I tried skiing, while my partner hiked to the top using the walking path – mostly steps, though you can choose part of the route over simulated rock formations (as seen in the picture), which is a bit more interesting than just stairs. You can also take an elevator to the top. The café at the top didn’t quite meet our expectations.

The view from the summit is mostly fantastic, and on clear days, you can even see the bridge connecting Denmark and Sweden. However, the section facing Copenhagen’s city center is blocked off, and you can only look through a window, so it’s not ideal for photos.

As for skiing, it was a unique experience for me. Skiing on artificial material feels very different from snow – imagine skiing on ice. After a few attempts, a recreational skier can get the hang of it and ski normally. The cost is around 150DKK for equipment rental (helmet, boots, poles, skis) and another 150DKK for the lift ticket. The first part of the slope has a conveyor belt lift (you switch 3 times), while the longer upper section uses a disk lift.

The slope could be better maintained. As seen in the photos, the surroundings are overgrown, so any slip or fall can lead to extra scrapes. However, the sides are well fenced off for safety.

Summary: For recreational skiers, this is a unique experience, and the walk to the top with the view is also worth it. The price is in line with other activities in Copenhagen. We arrived at the location by bicycles, which we rented through the rent-a-bike app. Bikes are available almost everywhere in central Copenhagen, and the app is easy to use and well-organized. Local buses also go to the location, but if walking from the city center, it’s a bit of a longer walk.

Awesome place and idea. Using a power plant as ski hill and viewing platform.
You can either walk up or take the elevator. Entrance is free for either. On the top is a bar as well.
At the foot there is a ski rental if you feel tempted.
It can be smelly if you are right in the fumes but there are not at the top (of course depending on wind). But also not that bad.
Great alternative to do in Copenhagen with quite some view.

Good experience to climb this building up through the stairs.

You have elevator option as well at the entrance, which takes you directly to the top.
But you might feel some heat and smell from the inside.
