Excellent place for a hiking vacation in Bad Gastein. We loved the location, the views, the hotel amenities, the friendly staff and the food and service greatly exceeded our expectations for half board. Wonderful place all around! We would go again!

Interesting hotel - you can feel and breath the charms of the old Austrian empire.
The hotel could do with some gentle renovation here and there, but overall it is still in quite good shape.
The bar is excellent and the wellness areas (thank God one is adults-only, the other one is full of noisy children) is ok.
The biggest asset of the hotel is its location - right in the middle of the restaurant, bar and club area in the pedestrian zone and within walking distance of the gondola.

Just went for a quick lunch. Worst service I experienced ever. I work in the hospitality sector myself and this wasn’t acceptable AT ALL. I came for lunch with my brother and we were treated derogatory. The employee was a man, short dark hair, around 55 years old and pretty small, he didn’t even greet us when we came inside and when we paid he didn’t even say thank you or looked us in the eyes. A goodbye was even too much  for him. Never again.

Stayed a week in the suite. Liked it a lot and may come back. Room 5/5. Bed 4/5.

1/5 service: rude, impolite, unwilling to help.

Sauna 5/5 ca 90 C. Gym 2/5 too small but good view. Pools 3/5.

Great hotel in the city of Bad Gastein. Within walking distance of the train station and cable car (without having to ascend or descend a lot, which is important in Bad Gastein due to its location in a high valley). Breakfast buffet varies daily and has many choices. Depending on the location of the room you can even hear the famous waterfall. It includes a spa and even has a training via ferrata next door.
