I have frequented this hotel multiple times for customer appreciation events and strategic meetings organized by online travel agencies and various government entities in the hotel and tourism sector. The ballroom and foyer are both spacious and elegantly designed, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. The quality of the food and beverages provided has been quite satisfactory, and the facilities are well-maintained and modern. However, locating parking can prove challenging on busy event days. Overall, my experiences at this hotel have been positive. What truly sets this hotel apart is the attentive and courteous staff, who consistently go above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcome and valued. Whether it's providing assistance with technical equipment during meetings or offering personalized recommendations for local attractions, their dedication to service is commendable. Additionally, the hotel is ideally situated, offering easy access to key landmarks and cultural sites, making it a convenient choice for both business and leisure travelers.

My wife and I absolutely loved this hotel. From check-in to check-out everything was above and beyond.  Pang was very nice and helpful in getting us checked in via the Royal club lounge and escorted to our beautiful room.  The pool area and bar are gorgeous.  All of the staff are very friendly. The breakfast buffet in the cafe was the absolute best breakfast we’ve had at any Marriott property.  The service was top notch.  We really enjoyed our time here in Bangkok.  The USA Marriott’s could really learn a thing or two or three from overseas Marriott properties.

Hotel has a great location in Bangkok. Staff are friendly and go out of their way to assist you. Hotel was well maintained. We had no complaints during our stay. Highly recommended hotel!

Breakfast selection at the Club lounge was limited compared to the breakfast buffet at the ground floor, would recommend having breakfast at the ground floor instead which had a very extensive selection.

Had a wonderful 7 day stay at the Athenee last month. As a Platinum member, breakfast and access to the executive lounge were included, and I was given a minor room upgrade (although sadly not to a suite).

Hotel is in a convenient location - just a few minutes away from a BTS station and within walking distance of plenty of malls (Central Embassy, Central World) for shopping and restaurants. The rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable, but they do look and feel a little dated. The bathroom toiletries were by Byredo, which was a nice touch. The pool was excellent - large enough to swim laps, not crowded, plenty of seating and well cared for.

Breakfast buffet was excellent, with a large variety of Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Western options every single day, with a few rotating items. The executive lounge offered a happy hour with free flowing alcohol and light bites every afternoon, as well as different foods each evening that could serve as a quick dinner (for example: wonton noodle soup, spaghetti alle vongole, and grilled beef ribs.

Service was top notch, everyone we interacted with was incredibly kind and attentive. I also wanted to give a big shout out to Mik in the executive lounge as well as Noi and Mewnion from Rain Tree Cafe for always taking care of us and making our stay memorable.

The hotel itself is great: the rooms and amenities are beautiful. But this is by far the worst customer service experience I've ever had at a Marriott property. I'm a Platinum member and I stayed here for over 30 nights. I also stayed here for a month last year. I wouldn't stay here again.

One night, I abruptly received a notice shoved under my door that I needed to move to a different room so that "maintenance could be performed". There was absolutely nothing wrong with my room when I received the notice. The deadline they gave me to switch rooms was very short, and it was also less than a week before I was set to depart. I was extremely annoyed at having to pack up a month's worth of stuff, so I went down to the front desk to ensure that my new room was an upgrade, as compensation for the hassle. It was quite literally the least they could do.

They refused to upgrade my new room until I threatened to cancel the rest of my reservation and move to a new Marriott property: then an upgraded room magically became available. They gave me the lowest possible upgrade, and did not even upgrade me to a low tier suite.

On the day I had to move, I was told the concierge would move my bags to the new room while I was out. I even informed the concierge when I was leaving and restated that I needed my bags moved. I returned to the hotel 12+ hours later, ready to go to sleep, only to find that my bags were still sitting in the old room. I finally received my bags and realized that they also didn't transfer over the memory foam pillows I requested for the old room, because the giant feather pillows destroy my neck. So then I had to wait even longer for the pillows.

On top of all this, they refused to upgrade my original room upon arrival despite my Platinum status, stating that I was staying at the hotel for too many nights. So they essentially refused to upgrade me because I was about to spend too much money at their property.

Horrible experience. I can no longer recommend this property.
