Amazing fine dining experience.

I haven’t been impressed by a fine dining restaurant in a long long while because I find that most restaurants gunning for their stars end up gravitating towards the same-ish presentation / taste / concept. Reduction of this, emulsion of that, hey let’s dump loads of $$$ ingredients together and call it a day… It gets boring.

Sorn was food that actually tasted memorably good. I love Southern Thai food and this was the perfect blend of texture and flavor with great thought put into making the spices elevate (not hide!) the freshness of the raw ingredients used.

Chef was also gracious in accommodating our insanely late arrival (broken google calendar meant that our timezone didn’t adjust properly and we were nearly an hour late)

Top quality experience all round. Will be back.

Definition of fine dining. The table service was lovely and food came at a good pace. Appreciated that the chef came to personally greet us and ask us about our spice level. Amazing seafood and curries. Signature dish was a spicy crab claw and we enjoyed the salad and omelette. Delicious wine pairing (especially sake). Only knock is that they don’t offer a cocktail menu and I wasn’t crazy about the desserts.

We had a fantastic night. The food was amazing; the presentation is impressive. Couldn't ask for more. It was a culinary feast to remember, giving you a day dream over many courses of Thai food culture. Totally worth it.

I was surprised and feel lucky by how easy it was to book when I emailed reservations on the day they opened international bookings. I dined solo in a private area and since most bookings are similar, there wasn’t much of a vibe due to being alone. The service was excellent, especially when they brought out the raw ingredients for each dish to showcase what was coming. Every dish was delicious and thoughtfully prepared but my favorites were "The Sea Holds the Forest" (the fragrant turmeric rice and the mix of southern herbs created a light, flavourful dish), the prawn omelette and the beef with southern green curry (the beef was melt in your mouth tender with a nice spice kick). I left feeling very full and satisfied. Jeffy was friendly, fun and provided great service throughout.

Best Michelin star for Thai foods so far. Maybe a bit spicy for foreigners, but tastes good anyway. My best dish is the fresh crab and lobster. Main course is to share. Dessert is superb with many selections. Price is around 8k per person. Also, There was an air conditioner problem on my visit.
