We loved that this hotel was across the river, far from the craziness of busy Bangkok. The grounds, the pool and exterior of the hotel are all very pretty, you feel like your at a private residence. The property has been restored after years of neglect, and unfortunately you can smell mold in the rooms, probably from this time period. Black mold is hard to get rid of, and from the pictures that they have in the upstairs above the dining room, show the history of when it was a private residence, a school, then it sat abandoned for years, it was flooded and almost ruined beyond repair. I appreciate that this is a historic property, but the past is apparent in the rooms.
We had a king room downstairs, and the smell of black mold in our room was very strong. It was challenging to sleep and be in the room, the smell was so obvious. The rooms themselves, are somewhat dated and need a little TLC. The fabric curtains are moldy smelling and the air conditioners need to be replaced, the smell of mold was coming from them as well. For a four star hotel, the rooms are very disappointing.
The restaurant is good, the breakfast is okay, there is no pool bar, but the staff come by the pool area to give you drinks.
The staff are all very nice. The boat drivers, Mr. Lu and the other gentlemen, were extremely professional and made us feel at home. We loved the boat rides, but plan accordingly. I
f they could get rid of the black mold, we would re-book, but I could not handle that smell for one more night.

Had dinner here (previously stayed) the lamb I ordered must have been pre-cooked. It was cold in places & warm in others. The restaurant refunded me, but by this point we had still spent 3500 b as a couple, and I had a rubbish dinner. The ambience of the restaurant is boring and dead. At 9pm we were asked if we wanted a dessert, when we hadn’t even started our main. That’s not a good sign, shows the chef just wants to go home. For an expensive meal, that is not the treatment you would want.

Praya Palazzo was stunning & so peaceful, the perfect welcome to Bangkok! The restaurant is super delicious & it was nice being right on the pier.
The only slight concern we had was the phone number for the private boat back to the hotel. The email contained a few numbers, but none of them seemed to work, so we were able to find one online. We’d definitely stay here again!

This hotel is absolutely beautiful, like a little oasis right in the middle of Bangkok. The staff are so lovely too, especially Rung the boat captain and Peem (?) the front desk manager. I arrived really early and they very kindly let me check into the hotel a few hours early, which was so appreciated.
It's only accessible by boat and the pier closes to the public after 8, so you will need phone service to call the hotel. It's a gorgeous place for a calm quiet stay, but because of the boat aspect it may not be ideal for those out partying or those who have mobility issues.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I really appreciate the kind staff!

Believe the low reviews if you care about cleanliness. The bed headboards had a coat of dust, toilet handle and surround needs a good sanitized wipe down, shower had left over hair balls…
If you must visit then I reccomend dining at the restaurant and taking pictures but have a back up place to bathe and rest.
