On a Michelin food hunt! Our Saturday morning started beautifully with a plate of awesome fried rice cake with requested added eggs and heavenly tasting toasts with special toppings - butter plus 2 half boiled eggs. 🤩🤩🤩

This fried rice cake was a masterclass in textures and flavors! Served with happy vibes!
😋Strong wok hei flavor with subtle portion of pork lard cubes, adding depth and smokiness.
😋Rich sweetness and savouriness balanced by spicy chili.
😋Well-fried eggs (requested for added eggs)  and the crunchy preserved radish chye poh added amazing texture in it.
😋Tender, springy steam rice cubes, cooked to perfection (wishing for more cubes though）🤣

Remarkably well-balanced, with sweetness, savouriness, and spiciness harmonizing in perfect unison.🤩 Love it! 💯

A must try! Worthy to be Michelin awarded! 🤩😋

First time trying char koay kak, a local standout Penang dish and decided why not start with one of the most well known ones.
Got there pretty early in the morning and was greeted by the sisters, who are the most warm and welcoming. We ordered the double egg large and grabbed a coffee. It arrived piping hot and, though felt it was a little small, on tasting, it was really tasty. Ample wok hei, and well made rice cake, which held its texture well. Well balanced between the sweet and salty. The sprouts added some crunch to a mostly soft textured dish.
All in all, a grand start to our koay kak journey.

This hawker does live up to my expectations of a Michelin certified street deli, and if you want to taste authentic Penang Char Kuey Kak, this is the go-to place, beating everybother outlets.

First of all, the taste is noticeably better than the few Char Kuey Kak outlets that I sampled before. The sauce is rich in flavour, not too salty and thick. The Kak is perfectly cooked, and unlike other places where it can be overly glutinous, here the Kak still retains certain chewiness. And there is Wok Hei.

Other than these qualitative matrics, the value they offers is high, for example, here I ordered the biggest potion which is double egg big, it only cost 7Rm, but in Chowrasta Pasar, a typical medium sized Char Kuey Kak with single egg is about half the size yet cost 4.2Rm. If I were to make a choice I guess now it's a no brainer.

Sister Yao fries a mean plate of Char Koay Kak. Whenever in Penang will come over for a fix. Order and eat at the coffee shop. There is also a char Kway Teow at the shop.

Not a fan of char koay kak but their version is the best I ever ate. SG dun have these and u only find them in MY. Their wok hei u can definitely taste it. Ordered with extra egg is a good choice. Boss is friendly too. Came around 9.15am on a PH. No Q and got table available at the nearby coffee shop.
