On a Michelin food hunt... This Penang Hokkien Mee is a true masterpiece! The first sip of the soup was nothing short of breathtaking, boasting a rich flavor profile that left me craving more.

The noodles are perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of shallot and lard oil and no unpleasant alkalinity in the yellow noodles. Truly, a must-try for Hokkien Mee enthusiasts! 😋😋😋 Paired with the springy noodles and roasted pork, the flavors reached new heights, yet the soup remained the undeniable star.
Worth the queue !

I would give it a 3.5 ⭐️ but they don’t have so I would think a 3 ⭐️. If you love prawns then you would love their soup, it is super rich! But other than that, the 2 add on was just so-so. The crispy pork wasn’t crispy at all and the pig knuckle wasn’t the soft type(my personal preference😶). Like most stalls in Penang, if you buy from them and eat inside their shop/ partner shop you need to buy a drink each. Inside have no aircons so it’s hot which makes me lost my appetite abit.

Only the Hokkien Mee worth trying imo, remember to add the sio bak!

Delicious soup with strong prawn flavour and well cooked noodles.

Hygiene is a bit... (clean the utensils!)

Oyster omelette from neighbouring omelette is decent.

This little enclave of shops served up many of the local delicacies. The 888 hokkien mee is one of the popular shops here.

The hokkien mee was served along with roasted pork on it. Overall, the broth was rich and flavourful. I think without roasted pork, it might be better.

The cendol dessert was great. Right amount of gula melaka, and they were generous with the ingredients.

Still a very solid and rich bowl of Hokkien Mee despite the years and hiring of foreign labour to assemble the bowl to order. The attention to detail of the stock and ingredients is still there and the option to add intestines and roast pork is a real bonus. Worth coming here to eat.
