My husband and I came to Malaysia to celebrate my birthday. Eat and Cook was definitely one of the highlights. PS - I can see why they were ranked one of Top 50 restaurants in Asia.

It was very maliciously cooked and presented with passion, creativity, and local knowledge. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thank you Eat & Cook team.

The dining experience was underwhelming. While the starters were decent, the main dishes missed the mark—some were too salty instead of sweet, and the presentation, especially the kuih, was lacking. The chef didn't make an appearance after the main course, which felt impersonal. Desserts were average, with the melon being particularly tasteless, and the beef was not appetising. Given its Michelin status and spot on Asia's 50 Best list, I expected much better. Overall, it wasn’t the fine dining experience I had hoped for. I hope the next season's menu improves.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable Malaysian fine dining experience, this is the place to be. The concept is truly one-of-a-kind: you sit around the kitchen, watching the chefs perform their magic using molecular gastronomy techniques, all based on 99% local ingredients (except the salt). Each dish is a work of art, meticulously crafted and thoughtfully explained during service.

What really stands out is how Malaysian ingredients are transformed in ways you’ve likely never seen before – it’s inventive, surprising, and delicious. Yes, the meal costs over MYR500 per person (without alcohol), but for the level of creativity and quality, it’s worth every penny. A must-try for foodies looking to explore a modern take on Malaysian cuisine.

Yet, each individual’s taste varies. For me, I've shared the dishes I really like (photos). In fact, our country does have plenty of top quality ingredients tho, which we might never have realized. E&C, looking forward to seeing more great ingredients in your upcoming menu.
Recommend: adding $80 for their signature river prawn.
Downside: curry slightly salty during my visit.

The service is excellent.
The chef explain every dish and ingredient.
The environment abit warm, even it is raining day, and we found the reception area is much colder than the dining area.
Not all the food suit my taste, therefore I m not liking all the dishes, I just enjoy few of them, their duck is good, some dishes are too salty, desserts are so so, really need to work harder for that.
I appreciate restaurant that use local ingredient, but there is no surprise for the ingredient that they choose.
