This place is such a cool spot! It’s said to be the oldest tea house in Japan, and you can really feel the history when you’re there.

Their matcha is super smooth and packed with flavor—definitely a must-try. They also have other teas and sweets that go so well together. Everything tastes fresh and made with care. Other than that, I also odered Matcha Soba set for lunch. It was so refreshing.

The place has a cozy, traditional vibe, and the staff are really nice. Plus, it’s right by Uji Bridge, so the area is beautiful.

It can get a bit crowded, but it’s totally worth checking out if you’re in Uji and love tea!

Delicious matcha! Every menu item here at the oldest tea house was so interesting. Soba was great, and the soft serve to go was strong but delicate.

Was a lovely teahouse. Would come back again. Happened to be seated where I could see the view of the river and it was beautiful. Tried their matcha and gyokuro, and they give free hojicha as well. Their green tea sweets were the best I've ever tried!

this place was recommended by a number of blogs, and rightfully so! i had the houjicha sundae (which seems more like a parfait actually 😂) and i loved it! i had no idea what houjicha icecream could even taste that good! it paired very nicely with the red bean 🫘 as well 🤤

the view of the river is also a big plus! it was quite busy, as it’s near the stations but i think it’s worth the wait if you can stand the summer heat!

After looking at matcha soba in Uji  for months, I finally decided on this place because of the review and the view. It’s right across the bridge and it’s very easily accessible. I went quite early and got the first queue at 10:30 and when I was done, the queue was already long outside the shop. The soba tasted great and I was very happy with my decision to choose this place. I highly recommend it
