We had heard much about this marketplace and I have to say I was sorely disappointed. We went there on a weekday at around 11 AM and it was already packed, so packed that you could barely navigate it.  Yes there were a few stalls that  had honest food but most of it look like tourist junk. I had more fun in the adjacent consumer mall.  You can get the same or better food elsewhere and not have to put up with these mad crowds.

So much food and shops! We really enjoyed coming here, even if people say its many tourists. We all enjoyed the various food stalls and gift shops along the way. Bring lots of cash (anywhere from 100-1,000 yen for samples!) It was crowded when we went but wasn’t too bad. We tried dumplings, tempura sweet potato, sake and more! Also bought a lot of gifts at the various stores.

Such a cool place to visit. It can definitely get a little overwhelming with the crowds in the narrow aisles but it’s awesome to be able to check out so many different vendors all in one place. I would definitely recommend checking it out and come hungry!

A MUST do, trying all the different local variety of foods. Drinking Sake for $1 whilst eating giant oysters!

It does get busy, however because everyone is only allowed to eat inside the shops that they purchase from, the market foot traffic Flows at a steady pace. We went at the peak time and it was more than fine.

I will definitely bring friends here again.

The stroll through the market is absolutely delightful! There are numerous Japanese food shops offering a variety of delicious options. I particularly enjoyed the shrimp, squid, and octopus sticks, which were fantastic. Don't miss out on the famous Japanese strawberry sweets – they're a must-try!

I highly recommend visiting early, as the market opens at 11:00 AM when the crowd is less hectic. This way, you can fully enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. Overall, it's a wonderful place to explore and indulge in amazing Japanese cuisine!
