You’ll have an excellent experience here! We dined in a private room surrounded by a chill and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for enjoying lunch. The restaurant truly excels at food presentation—the chef puts great effort into showcasing each dish, with decorations reflecting the season.

One unique touch is the instruction sheet they provide, detailing the course menu. This allows guests to know what to expect without requiring lengthy introductions for each dish. Personally, I loved their approach to seasoning—it highlights the natural flavors of the ingredients rather than relying on heavy seasoning.

Restaurant was a bit difficult to locate but we used google maps and managed to find the restaurant. Do note that the signage is in Kanji.

The entire experience from start to finish was amazing. Service was excellent as the wait staff was very attentive. The ingredients used for the kaiseki were all locally sourced and very fresh. The chef skillfully extracted maximum flavour from the ingredients without use of any seasoning. So whatever you taste during the meal is au naturel.

We were pleasantly surprised when the master chef Maruyama himself came out to thank us.

Highly recommend a visit to this institution for exquisite Kyoto traditional dining.

We had excellent service sitting at the counter. The restaurant had printed out thorough explanations in English of each item for each course which we really appreciated. The chef also walked us through each course. If you can, try the bamboo sake as it was unlike any other sake we tried on our trip. The food itself was absolutely outstanding. Everything was seasonal and beautifully presented.

I adored my experience. The food is plentiful (I had the lunch course today) and was very satisfied, please don't have breakfast or eat light much earlier if you have to. My chef was so charming and made lots of conversation with me and explained what each item was. I am sorry I didn't ask his name, I was too shy lol but he's delightful.

The precision and commitment to perfection is awe inspiring. I feel very privileged to have experienced this today. The ingredients were fresh and even the staples were to a high standard.

Please treat yourself to this experience if you're able to.

I had counter seating and the full attention of my chef because no one else was there lol. I prefer that but some could argue it has less atmosphere.

Kaiseki 2* michelin restaurant is quite famous in this region. The menu is very long, many dishes are seasonal. We couldn't eat all the dishes on the menu because we were too full. The service here is very attentive and well-groomed. When we returned, all the staff and the main chef went out to say goodbye to us. A very attentive welcoming culture.
