I happened to pass by this outlet en route to nanzenji temple and decided to stop by for a coffee and breakfast. The outlet is beautifully constructed, reflecting the ancient looking city of Kyoto and its beautiful gardens.

You’ll have to find seats before ordering but I decided to risk it and order first since the food will take time. In the end it worked out fine.

I got a latte and the seasonal special waffle topped with apple, fig jam, cream, and cinnamon powder. The combination was divine, and the waffle itself was delightfully crispy on the outside and chewy inside. Altogether it was 1550Y which was reasonable.

Went in for breakfast, I tried the caramel waffles 10/10, matcha cheesecake 8/10, the mocha cafe and an iced latte 8/10. The portions are small but the taste is very good. If you are in the area and want a good place to have breakfast I totally recommend it. The staff is welcoming and attentive.

The coffee was great, and the atmosphere was wonderful. The café is beautifully designed, repurposing an old wooden house into a cozy space. When I visited, there weren’t many people around, which was lucky for me. A truly charming spot!

My wife and I went early before the philosopher path, and wanted some caffeine before hitting the road.

Blue bottle location is half rustic, half modern giving a pleasant vibe to our Kyoto ballad. They have all the machinery to make great coffee, and the staff was proficient in english to quickly take your order.

Sunny blue sky while sipping a coffee is relaxing. A minor not would be the price point, as the macchiato was small for 550 Yen.

I don't mind capitalizing on their popularity, but seeing lot of foreigners instead of locals tell me they are not the best in Kyoto.

The mocha was so dry, hard and bitter. The latte was bad. But it's sure nice when you are freezing cold about to get a frost bite but arriving in this cafe and having a drink. Toilet was big and clean, W. Too expensive 750 Yen for one bitter mocha.
