Possibly one of the best hotels I’ve ever seen. The location is pure beauty. I had the chance to stay at the Royal Villa, which is very large and comfortable, with an amazing heated pool and a large outside area, ideal for our honeymoon. People working there are very kind and result oriented. Our personal butlers were so precious and always helpful.

The grounds at Kayon are undeniably beautiful. However, the experience overall did not meet the 5-star standard we expected, especially given the very high prices. We did not stay for our full booking.

We encountered repeated upselling of dinner and massages, which felt more like a sales pitch than a genuine luxury experience. Service was also slow—waiting over 30 minutes by the pool without being attended to. When we went for afternoon tea, we were made to feel uncomfortable after being questioned about our attire, despite it meeting the dress code.

Another major issue was the deal Kayon seems to have with local taxi drivers. We were charged 225k by the hotel for a short 15-minute journey, and the driver persistently tried to sell us tours, jewelry, and coffee, making the ride uncomfortable. We later had the same journey organised by a different venue for just 130k, revealing a significant price discrepancy.

Our room had a persistent damp smell, which added to our dissatisfaction. The hotel manager did try to make amends once we raised our concerns, which we appreciated, but by then, we had decided to book alternate accommodation.

The hotel also waived some fees upon check out as a gesture of goodwill.

While the setting is lovely, the service and pricing need serious improvement to justify Kayon as a true 5-star experience.

What a wonderful stay in the middle of the jungle! We had a pool villa with a breathtaking view. Everything was exceptional clean and the service was so attentive and friendly. Thank you so much to Dewa, Adi and everyone else who took the best care of us. We can‘t wait to come back!

Perfect hotel to end our honeymoon! The heated pool in our villa was perfect and my favorite daily activity. Highly recommend ordering a romantic floating breakfast! The views here are stunning and it’s close enough to get to all the must see and do things in Ubud but out of all the traffic and trash that comes with being squished into a heavily populated area
