Great experience.

We preordered 2 pigeons and half a salt baked chicken for five adults.

Pigeon was delicious. The best meat dish I had that night.

Salt baked chicken was a bit chewy but I’m guessing that’s the appeal?

Sweet and sour pork. There’s an option of frozen and fresh. We got frozen. Tasted good with a good crunchy crispy exterior, however the sauce was extremely starchy.

Fried rice (off menu) was with pork shoulder, cuttlefish and veg. Enjoyable!

To end, we had steamed egg, we were told the chef overcooked the first one so it only came towards the end. Clams were a bit sandy and foul smelling but the egg was very jiggly and delicious.

Would probably come back and try again. Not sure if it’s worth crossing the harbour though.

Lobster was bit disappoint with the vermicelli super deep fried that makes it dryer for my taste. Beef and vegetables were great, crab is okay. Overall bit pricy but the enclosed space and walls make it way too loud. Had 2 loud tables the my ears were ringing when I left, servers could’ve moved us into plenty of space inside. No longer hard to book nowadays

I had to come here and see what the hype is about. Quite surprised that booking is not required during lunch hours and the restaurant is quite empty you can easily walk in for a meal.
I had to try their signature lobster with fried rice vermicelli. It was quite expensive but I think its quite worth the price considering the meat given is almost one whole lobster and the meat is so tender and succulent. Also ordered the beef and the fried tofu.
Seriously I asked for a smaller portion but seems like the size is pretty standard. For 2 people 3 dishes really seem a lot and we couldn't finish the food. I had ordered a sweet sour pork initially and had to cancel the order. Luckily the chef hasn't prepared the dish else we would even have to finish it.
Food is good and flavourful and definitely my kind of food. Its worth a try but do note the price will be expensive. Also note that 1 dish can have different prices, for example like the sweet sour pork, initially I was asked if I wanted fresh or frozen pork because there is a price difference.

Enjoyed myself with the food here. The steamed soon hock with bean sauce豆酥 is a dish I always loved when I had my first taste at the now defunct湘園 Charming Garden in Singapore. I enjoyed the prawn pan fried with supreme soy sauce as well as the squid cake? I found the clam soup just above average. Service is passable but not as bad as Ju Xing in Singapore.

Love, love, love the food in this place. Surprised that it didn't score at least a 4 on Google Map. We almost wanted to give it a miss. I'm giving it a 5! It was probably the best food we had in HK on this trip. Must order the sizzling hot pot with the greens, the deep fried quail and the salt baked chicken. Maybe the one dish I didn't quite get was the shellfish in the toufu. But so good, so satisfying. We arrived at an odd time for lunch, about 2pm. Surprised they were still serving and happily cooked for us. The tables were being set for dinner and all we're reserved. So if u want to come at regular meal times, the staff strongly suggest making reservations. The restaurant is coming to Singapore but I suspect the price will be much higher.
