We recently visited Yuan is Here, and the Taiwanese owners have done a great job of bringing the traditional night market street food culture to Hong Kong. The food portions and quality have noticeably improved since my last visit a couple of years ago.

We tried a variety of dishes, starting with the 'bao' (Taiwanese burger) and the Dried Meat Frost and Egg Crepe, both of which were packed with flavour. The oyster vermicelli was delightful, perfectly cooked and seasoned. To top it all off, we indulged in the taro ball sweet soup, which was a lovely way to end our meal.

The atmosphere really captures the essence of a night market in Taiwan, making it a fun dining experience.

Confused why this is Michelin guide??? Food tasted as if it was washed under a sink to rinse off the flavor. I genuinely never leave reviews either for restaurants. Food came out very fast, staff was polite and restaurant was clean. Other than the bathroom which seemed to have black mold growing in it…?

We were unbelievably lucky to stumble across this Taiwanese gem of a restaurant with literally a table available for two (there is usually a 30-minute wait).
Daunted at first, until we spotted the QR code and then started to order some very authentically unusual side dishes (Burdock Salad is a must, Black Fungus in vinaigrette is fresh and deliciously pickled and the fried chicken is succulent with a crispy flavoured batter. We opted to try the braised beef rice and the pork belly noodles, both of which were good portions and very delightful in their rich taste. The whole experience is great to revel in, with basic stools and tables where the wait-staff will park up your meals in a matter of minutes. The vibe is very lively and the open kitchen layout is great to watch. Definitely makes for a more interesting evening out, but I would say opt for midweek as weekends can get quite hectic and they turn over tables quite quickly.

The best food that I ate in the Kennedy town. Guest can order by web using QR code. Very easy and very delicious. Don't forget, pork rice and fried chicken.

Delicious Taiwanese spot in Kennedy Town! This spot is pretty popular, so be prepared to wait a bit for a table during peak times. We tried their recommendations and all were really delicious and filling; we especially liked the fried chicken, burger and egg roll. Service was fast and efficient, but I’ll also admit it felt a bit rushed since everyone was given only an hour and a half for dining time. Understandable given they’re busy to seat as much people possible though, but otherwise really tasty spot for lunch or dinner if you’re around the neighborhood.
