What a truly special place. Warm, welcoming, healing in every sense of the word. The facilities are one thing, but the staff and the service is what really sets this place apart. They were always helpful and ready to anticipate every need: from the manager to the kitchen staff, chefs to housekeeping. You get the sense that everything is intentional, thought out and tailored to your exact wishes. And the food! What a highlight. Every single dish whipped up by the chef was stunning, fresh and delicious. Being fed incredible meals three times a day, with delicious in-room treats in-between (and an endless cookie jar), was such a spoil. I could really go on and on about this place (the stunning rooms, the amazing Hammam experience at the spa, the deliciously fresh daily baked bread, the thoughtful and kind touches from every staff member, the gorgeous facilities…), but all those separate descriptions won’t encapsulate the full EXPERIENCE that is a stay at Sterrekopje. That full experience is completely unique to this wonderful slice of heaven. This is sure to become an annual pilgrimage. Barely left, and already thinking about returning.

There are no words to truly explain Sterrekopje.

I remember my first day and night there, wandering through its breathtaking gardens and thinking, if there is a heaven, surely it's this.

The scenery is magical (I did a tour with the gardener and he plucked an apple from a tree telling me it's a Rose Apple and was bred to taste like an English rose – it does); the food is out of this world (picked from the gardens each day); the rooms are the most beautifully decorated I have EVER seen (and being someone who works in interiors this is high praise, and every one is completely unique and made me squeal with joy); the people are the kindest and most genuine you will meet (from its founders Fleur and Nicole to its entire warm, warm team); and its treatment rooms are truly healing (I've never had a massage that made me feel the way it did).

I could write a 1000 words on Sterrekopje and it still wouldn't be enough. But if you care about beauty, detail, kindness and nature, I implore you to go. It was an experience I feel blessed to have had.

Looking back, it’s a memory embraced with love and tranquility, and I eagerly anticipate the day I can return to savor not just the exquisite retreat but also the rejuvenating spa experience that adds an extra layer of bliss to the entire stay.

I just spent a week here and it was, in a word, transformative. Everyone is so very kind and Nicole and Fleur and their team have put together a truly magical place. I came for a women’s retreat during a very hard time in my life and I left feeling whole. The hammam is amazing 🤩 also the gardens. You could spend an entire afternoon walking around the property and meeting the animals. There’s also a great little hike up the mountain nearby if you need a workout from all the amazing food.

Handsdown one of the most stunning and magical places i've ever been, leaving you in awe! The staff is exceptional, offering world-class service. Every aspect as been worked out in a meticulously way and is so well executed into detail. Words cannot express . We'll certainly return!
