Far and away the most luxurious place we stayed in Namibia!  The staff were top notch, especially our guide Denvel, Prinella, Sabina, Jo and the rest of the team.  Highly recommend Sossusvlei, and if you go, don’t stay anywhere else!

We had some bad luck with our car on the way to sesriem. We were picked up and dropped off at this lodge as it was too hot to wait at the car for assistance. Our new vehicle was not making it in time so we had to spend the night here. Best room we have ever stayed in! Everyone was so nice and friendly and assisted us in every possible way! Amazing place, amazing staff, amazing food. We are very grateful!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at And Beyond Lodge Sossusvlei, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The number of staff that came out to meet us on arrival ensured a smooth check-in process, making us feel instantly welcome.

One of the most heartwarming touches was the personalized welcoming card waiting for us in our room. The king-size bed was incredibly comfortable, and it was a delight to relax on it while watching the afternoon shadows grow longer.

The effort put into accommodating families with extra beds for kids was impressive, and we were touched by Hilma and KK's patience while playing with the kids.

The way the lodge's buildings seamlessly blend into the environment is a testament to their commitment to sustainability. The food was food, and the drinks variety was a pleasant surprise. The tea and coffee selection satisfied our cravings, and the sound of iron-rich stones clanging as we walked over them added to the unique charm of the surroundings.

The star-gazing experience guided by Bruce was quite impressive and we got to take close up pics of the moon as well as seeing the rings of Saturn through the larger of the 2 telescopes available. It was both mesmerizing and educational.
The water paint and pad inspired provided in the rooms stimulated our creative sides, and we were thrilled to see oryx and springbok walking past our room to add yet another dimension to the experience.

The landscape offered a stunning contrast of colors and tones, from the red, black, and blue sky to the golden-brown grass plains.

For families, the kids' play packs, including coloring goodies, a magnifying glass, dominoes, and a water bottle, were a thoughtful touch.

What truly sets And Beyond Lodge Sossusvlei apart is their unwavering commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability. Their constant efforts to seek out ways to improve are incredible, and it's reassuring to see their dedication to preserving this beautiful region of Namibia.

One mysterious aspect that intrigued us was the "cleaning fairies." We never saw or heard them, but everything was always impeccably cared for, and every detail was seen to.

If I had to mention a minor downside, it would be the pool water being extremely cold. However, the staff assured us that they are actively working on an energy-efficient solution, which reflects their dedication to enhancing the guest experience.

Overall, our stay at And Beyond Lodge Sossusvlei was nothing short of magical, and we can't wait to return to this hidden gem in the heart of nature's beauty.

We had a great stay. Da Silva, Petrus, Michael, and the rest of the staff were top-notch. My wife wasn’t feeling well, and they went out of their way to make her feel better.

The food and wine selection were great. There were plenty of things to do.

It is a bit far from most of the Sossusvlei attractions though.

My partner and I stayed at the lodge for two nights in May 2023.

This is an ultra-luxurious destination where your every want and need is catered for. The food, setting, service, and activities were all outstanding and the whole experience felt unique and exclusive. Definitely an excellent choice for a honeymoon or special occasion. It was our favourite place in Namibia by far.

We did the hot air ballooning, day trip to the famous Deadvlei, and a few other smaller activities. All of these were once-in-a-lifetime experiences that I cannot recommend enough.

This stay, however, cost waaay beyond our usual budget (by about 25x on a per-night basis) and we only did it as a special treat for ourselves. Assuming you're in a similar situation to us, I have a suggestion for how you can plan your trip better than we did. I strongly suggest staying in another cheaper location nearby Deadvlei for a couple of days if you are going to the hot air ballooning, helicopter ride, or Deadvlei trip (on top of your stay at andBeyond). The reason I say this is that the hot air ballooning took half a day and Deadvlei trip took most of a day, which meant that out of the two days we were paying for the lodge, we only spent one day actually at the lodge, experiencing their full hospitality, etc. And it's worth mentioning that the hot air ballooning is run by a separate company nearby, and you can drive to Deadvlei yourself if you have a 4x4 - you don't need a guide for that. This made us feel we were not getting good value for money and getting the most out of the lodge. This is no criticism of the lodge itself, only our planning!

That being said, if money is no issue for you and you can afford to stay for a week or more, then go ahead and do everything through the lodge - it will save you some planning effort after all.
