Although a new museum has recently opened, a significant portion of the collections still remains in this historic building. The environment in the old museum may be less comfortable—there is no air conditioning, and there are few places for visitors to rest—but the sheer number of artifacts on display is truly breathtaking. Despite the less modern amenities, the museum’s vast collection makes it a must-see for anyone interested in Egypt’s rich history. The experience of walking through the halls filled with ancient treasures is unforgettable, offering a deep dive into the country’s fascinating past.

I had an incredible experience at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo! The vast collection of ancient relics is absolutely mesmerizing. It was such a pleasure to study and read about the rich history behind each artifact and then see these treasures up close. Walking through the exhibits felt like stepping back in time and connecting with a culture that shaped history. If you're a history enthusiast or simply curious about the wonders of the ancient world, this museum is an absolute must-visit. It's easy to navigate through the building, I advise you go very early at 9am to go through each and every detail. A truly unforgettable journey through time!

So many ancient artifacts to look at. It's actually overwhelming to see these beautifully crafted pieces that have lasted for thousands and thousands of years. It's well worth going to see. The only reason for 4 stars is because many exhibit display cases are empty. I believe it's because they have been transferred to the new Grand Egyptian Museum that just recently opened (well half of it is open).

What an amazing experience, course we took a guide to see all the exhibits but they all have small cards to read up on the history. Would reccomend getting tickets in advance to save the queue. Also take some toilet roll in case as in the toilets men’s and women’s alike there’s no loo roll, and there’s some person asking for money holding it when you go in.
